Definitions

  • the invention relates to a jug according to the preamble of claim 1 and a method for producing the jug.
  • Pots especially those made of glass, which serve as serving and collecting containers for e.g. Coffee are used are provided with a plastic mouth rim to reduce the susceptibility to breakage when toasting.
  • Such cans are particularly useful in the commercial sector, including very common in restaurants and hotels. The advantages of such cans are the already mentioned low susceptibility to breakage and more favorable casting properties, which can be achieved through the plastic rim of the mouth.
  • a glass jug is also known, the handle made of plastic is formed in two parts, a hook over the edge of the jug inside it is connected via a sliding connection with the rest of the handle, which on the side wall of the Glass jug is glued.
  • the proposed design in the form of a two-part handle serves to compensate for tolerances in order to ensure a firm and secure fit of the hook attachment on the edge of the can and to relieve the adhesive connection between the handle and the can wall.
  • the invention is therefore based on the object of designing a can of the generic type, which thus has a plastic edge comprising the upper edge with a pouring spout and a handle attached to the outside of the can body in the form of an independent component, so that the mutual alignment pouring spout and handle can be reached quickly and safely during the manufacturing process with simple, cheap means.
  • the form-fitting connection between the plastic edge and the handle opposite the pouring spout ensures, with simple means, that the pouring spout and the handle lie exactly opposite one another after assembly.
  • the previously required, time-consuming, precise alignment of the handle with regard to the pouring spout is eliminated or at least simplified to such an extent that the time required for the alignment becomes negligibly small.
  • a jug according to the invention is particularly advantageous in the case of a jug whose upper edge of the jug body is rotationally symmetrical.
  • the upper edge can be placed on the jug in any angular position and the interlocking connection between the pouring spout and the handle is ensured by the form-fitting connection provided according to the invention between the plastic edge and the handle. Since the plastic edge can be placed on the can body in any angular position, the time to set the edge is also reduced.
  • a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the positive connection consists of a notch arranged in the plastic edge and a nose arranged on the handle.
  • the interlocking connection provided according to the invention does not impair the advantages previously achieved by the separate design of the plastic edge and handle.
  • the plastic edge is made according to the state of the art from polypropylene and connected to the glass edge using a polyamide hot melt adhesive.
  • a bayonet-type locking can also lead to a positive connection between the plastic edge and the edge of the jug.
  • these connections only essentially have a sealing function, the mechanical load is very low.
  • the can edge can also be manufactured with larger tolerances and thus cheaper, or the plastic edge with a different adhesive, e.g. a medium viscous silicone adhesive can be attached than was required in the prior art. It is therefore now possible to attach or secure the plastic edge by means of an elastic, aging-stable, but less mechanically stressable adhesive.
  • the handle can now be made of a plastic which is more suitable, for example, for gluing to the material of the jug, for example glass, than the plastic edge which comes into contact with the (hot) beverage and which is preferably made of polypropylene.
  • a handle made of ABS (poly (acrylonitrile-co-butadiene-co-styrene)) or PC (polycarbonate) using a permanently elastic silicone adhesive. Since these high-strength silicone adhesives are mostly highly viscous, they are unsuitable for attaching the plastic edge.
  • Such a connection now fulfills all the conditions required for use with respect to temperature change resistance, tear resistance and dishwasher compatibility.
  • the handle can also be guided around the jug Metal tape or in other known ways on the outside of the can body, instead of as before, on the pouring rim and thus on the can neck.
  • sticking the handle is the most advantageous type of attachment, since it is inexpensive and the jug does not have any metal parts, making it suitable for the microwave.
  • the lid can be placed loosely, snapped into the plastic edge, integrated as a swivel lid in the handle, etc.
  • the plastic edge serving as a spout can easily be produced in all desired embodiments - for example with a molded spout.
  • One is not limited to polypropylene, other food-safe plastics that are sufficiently rigid and heat-resistant can also be used.
  • the plastic edge especially when secured by the handle, can also be attached to the can edge simply by snapping it into place.
  • the rim of the jug is expediently thickened in a bead-like manner so that it can snap into a corresponding recess on the plastic edge.
  • This bayonet-like locking means that both parts are positively connected to one another.
  • the plastic edge is expediently designed so that the upper edge of the jug in one engages annular recess on the plastic edge, the inner wall of the annular recess being elastically supported on the inside of the upper edge of the glass, so that no liquid can get between the plastic edge and the upper edge of the can.
  • the outer wall of the annular recess sits tightly on the outside of the jug so that no rinsing water can get into the cavity.
  • the plastic edge is preferably fastened to the upper can edge, preferably with a hot-melt adhesive, preferably polyamide, wherein the positive engagement described can serve to additionally secure both parts.
  • the hot melt adhesive expediently at least largely fills the cavity between the plastic edge and the upper edge of the can, so that no liquid can penetrate there.
  • a secure and liquid-tight connection between the plastic edge and the jug is easily possible in all cases, since the connection - unlike the prior art - is relieved of the weight of the jug.
  • the jug is preferably made of glass, since glass is an inexpensive and hygienic raw material.
  • the jug and the handle can be made of glass ceramic, ceramic, earthenware or porcelain, in which case adhesives adapted to these materials are used.
  • Fig. 1 shows a jug 1 according to the invention with a glass container 2, a plastic rim 3 serving as a spout, a handle 4 and a lid 5.
  • the plastic rim 3 is ring-shaped and consists of a relatively rigid plastic, such as e.g. Polypropylene.
  • an annular recess 6 is embedded so that a short inner wall 7 and a longer outer wall 8 is formed.
  • the lower end 9 of the inner wall 7 runs thin and is flexible.
  • the annular plastic edge 3 has a pouring spout 10 and a notch 11.
  • the glass container 2 has a base 12 suitable for placement on a heating plate (not shown), an arcuately tapering side wall 13 and a slightly outwardly inclined edge 14, the entire glass container 2 being rotationally symmetrical.
  • the annular recess 6 When assembling the jug, the annular recess 6 is partially filled with a hot melt adhesive 15, preferably a polyamide hot melt adhesive, and pressed onto the edge 14 of the glass container 2 until the outer wall 8 of the plastic edge 3 is supported on the outer side 16 of the glass container 2.
  • the thinly tapering inner wall 7 comes into contact with the inside 17 of the edge 14, so that a Relatively smooth transition from the glass container 2 to the plastic edge 3 arises.
  • the amount of hot-melt adhesive 15 is advantageously such that the cavity that is formed when the joint is formed between the annular recess 6 and the edge 14 is at least largely filled with the hot-melt adhesive 15.
  • the notch 11 forms a starting aid for the handle 4, so that it can be attached to the spout 10 exactly opposite and at the correct height on the outside 16 of the glass container 2 without great effort.
  • the handle 4 has a nose 18 which fits into the notch 11 and is coated on its contact surface 19 facing the glass container 2 with a permanently elastic silicone adhesive 20.
  • the nose 18 forms a form-fitting securing of the plastic edge 3.
  • the silicone adhesive 20 forms a connection between the glass container 2 and the handle, which is also suitable for use in the hotel and restaurant trade, and is resistant to temperature changes, tear-off and dishwasher-safe 4th
  • the lid 5 can be firmly inserted into the plastic rim 3 by means of cams 21, a recess 22 allowing a beverage poured into the glass container 2 to be poured out.
  • FIG. 2 Another fastening option between the glass container 102 and the plastic edge 103 is shown in FIG. 2.
  • the outer wall 108 has a circumferential indentation 123 in the annular depression 106, into which the end of the edge 114 can snap.
  • the end of the edge 114 preferably has a thickening 124.
  • the indentation 123 is mounted in the annular recess 106 such that when the thickening 124 engages, the lower end of the outer wall 108 and the thinly tapering end of the inner wall 107, as described in FIG. 1, come into contact with the glass container 102 is coming.
  • the somewhat elastic plastic of the plastic edge 103 seals on the glass of the glass container 102.
  • An adhesive can also be filled into the annular recess 106, as described in FIG. 1. This adhesive increases the security of the connection between the plastic edge 103 and the glass container 102 and at the same time reliably prevents any ingress of liquid into the cavity formed between the annular depression 106 and the edge 114.
  • the glass container 2, 102 e.g. have a substantially cylindrical side wall 13
  • the plastic edge 3 can be designed without the inner wall 7 or outer wall 8, the plastic edge 3 then sits directly on the end of the edge 14;
  • the wall 25 of the plastic edge 3 can be designed in various ways, e.g. very steep and relatively long in the area of the spout 10; common is always that the handle 4 is attached to the side wall 13 and not on the edge 14 on the glass container 2, so that the attachment of the plastic edge 3 is not burdened with the entire weight of the jug 1.
  • handle 4 can be attached to the handle Body of the glass container metal tape running around are attached. It is also possible to glue a base plate to the glass container and mount the handle on this base plate.
