Abstract

1,002,003. Heat insulated containers. INSULTEX Ltd. Aug. 7, 1964 [Aug. 23, 1963], No. 33570/63. Addition to 904,656. Heading F4U. The container described in the parent Specification is improved in that a metal powder is added to the silica aerogel filling material, the powder serving to reflect radiant heat. In the form shown, the container is a jug consisting of inner and outer shells 1, 2, and the metal powder is preferably aluminium, but may be silver, nickel or copper, or a mixture of these metals. The metal powder is mixed with the silica aerogel in the proportion of up to 50% by weight. The shells of the container may be made of polystyrene or other thermoplastic material.
