Abstract
La presente invención ofrece un método para la producción anaerobia de 1 ,3-propanodiol, mediante el cultivo de una cepa de Clostridium en un medio de cultivo apropiado que incluye glicerina como fuente de carbono, en el cual dicha cepa de Clostridium no produce sustancialmente otros productos del metabolismo de la glicerina seleccionados entre el grupo constituido por: butirato, lactato, butanol y etanol, y recuperando el 1 ,3-propanodiol.
