Una población de Clostridium acetobutylicum de utilidad para la producción de 1,3-propanodiol (PDO), donde dicha población comprende al menos una cepa de una Clostridium acetobutylicum sp. que comprende mutaciones seleccionadas entre las mutaciones que se identifican en la tabla 1, donde los porcentajes relativos de dichas mutaciones se seleccionan entre genes específicos. Método para la producción de 1,3-propanodiol.
