Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a resin composition that can achieve heat aging resistance, particularly thin-walled heat aging resistance, film-forming properties, and shinji characteristics at a high level at the same time.
In general, polyphenylene ether is a resin having excellent properties such as heat resistance, hot water resistance, dimensional stability, mechanical properties, flame retardancy, and electrical properties, but has poor moldability due to its high melt viscosity. In addition, it has drawbacks such as poor chemical resistance and low impact resistance. Therefore, in order to improve such disadvantages of polyphenylene ether, alloying of polyphenylene ether with other resins or modification of polyphenylene ether has been conventionally performed.
These polyphenylene ether-based alloy resins do not have sufficient heat aging resistance without a stabilizer, and various stabilization formulations have been studied for use as practical materials.
In particular, it has been proposed to improve the heat aging resistance by using a sulfur compound as a stabilizer and using a phosphorus compound such as hindered phenol or phosphite.
An object of the present invention is to provide a resin composition capable of simultaneously achieving a high level of heat aging resistance, particularly thin-walled heat aging resistance, film-forming properties, and shinji characteristics.
As a result of earnestly examining the technology for achieving the above-mentioned problems, the present inventor has formulated a specific polyphenylene ether and a specific stabilizer at a specific ratio, and has heat aging resistance, particularly thin-walled heat aging resistance, film-forming property, We have found that the shinji characteristics can be achieved at a high level simultaneously. Furthermore, the polyphenylene ether in the resin composition has a specific molecular weight component and contains a specific stabilizer, so that it has a high level of heat aging resistance, particularly thin-walled heat aging resistance, film-forming properties, and shinji characteristics at the same time. The present invention was completed by finding out that this can be achieved.

As a polymerization method of this copolymer, it is preferable to obtain by polymerization in a slurry state from the viewpoint of sharpening the molecular weight distribution. The slurry state is a state in which the polymerization proceeds as the polymerization degree progresses by combining the good solvent and the poor solvent as the polymerization solvent, and the system is not completely uniform in solution and powder is precipitated. In particular, a solvent containing an alcohol solvent is preferable as the poor solvent. Here, the alcohol solvent is a known solvent having an aliphatic or alicyclic hydroxyl group. As the alcohol solvent, an alcoholic solvent having 1 to 8 carbon atoms is preferable. More preferred is an alcoholic solvent having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and particularly preferred is an alcoholic solvent having 1 to 4 carbon atoms. As the alcoholic solvent used in the reaction of the present invention, an alcoholic solvent having 98 or more carbon atoms is not preferable because it has a high boiling point and cannot be easily removed by distillation.
Specific examples of the alcoholic solvent having 1 to 8 carbon atoms include methanol, ethanol, n-propanol, i-propanol, n-butanol, s-butanol, t-butanol, pentanol, hexanol, heptanol, octanol and the like. It is done. These alcoholic solvents can be used alone or in combination with a plurality of alcoholic solvents. These alcoholic solvents can be used alone, but are preferably used as a mixed solvent with at least one solvent selected from other hydrocarbon solvents, ether solvents, and polar solvents.
As the homopolymer, poly (2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene ether) is preferable.
As an example of the production method of (a) polyphenylene ether used in the present invention, there is a method of oxidative polymerization of 2,6-xylenol using a complex of cuprous salt and amine described in US Pat. No. 3,306,874 as a catalyst. is there. U.S. Pat. Nos. 3,306,875, 3,257,357 and 3,257,358, Japanese Patent Publication Nos. 52-17880, and Japanese Patent Publications Nos. 50-51197 and 63-152628, etc. The method is also preferred as a method for producing (a) polyphenylene ether.
The (a) polyphenylene ether of the present invention may be used as a powder after the polymerization process, or under an atmosphere of nitrogen gas or non-nitrogen gas, devolatilization or non-devolatilization using an extruder or the like. And may be pelletized by melt kneading.
The polyphenylene ether (a) of the present invention includes polyphenylene ethers functionalized with various dienophile compounds. Examples of the dienophile compound include maleic anhydride, maleic acid, fumaric acid, phenylmaleimide, itaconic acid, acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, methyl allylate, methyl methacrylate, glycidyl acrylate, glycidyl methacrylate, stearyl acrylate, and styrene. The polyphenylene ether in the resin composition of the present invention has a molecular weight of 10,000 or less and 15% by mass or less based on the total molecular weight. The value of the component having a molecular weight of 10,000 or less relative to the sum of the total molecular weights is extremely important. When these values are set to specific values, it is surprisingly combined with the component (b) to achieve both extremely high thin-walled heat aging resistance, shinji characteristics, and suppression at the time of film formation. . Therefore, from that viewpoint, the polyphenylene ether in the resin composition is preferably 12% by mass, more preferably 8% by mass, and particularly preferably 5% by mass or less, based on the total molecular weight of 10,000 or less. .
The molecular weight of the polyphenylene ether in the resin composition of the present invention can be determined by the following method. The UV wavelength of the detector is measured at 254 nm for standard polystyrene and 283 nm for polyphenylene ether.
In the case of polyphenylene ether in the resin composition of the present invention, a sample is obtained as follows. n(OH)=63.9×(Abs)/(W)

The mass% of the (a) polyphenylene ether in the composition having a molecular weight of 10,000 or less relative to the sum of all the molecular weights is defined as α. Here, α was obtained as follows.
That is, a 100 μm-thick film obtained in the following example is cut out, dissolved in chloroform at 30 ° C., insolubles are removed, and the solution is poured into a large amount of methanol (reprecipitation) to obtain a powder and dried. . Next, methylene chloride is added, dissolved at 40-50 ° C., and left overnight in a freezer (−5 ° C.) to obtain a precipitate, which is filtered and washed with cold methylene chloride. Then, it is washed with methanol and vacuum dried at 140 ° C. for 1 hour to obtain polyphenylene ether. This sample was subjected to GPC measurement under the same conditions as described above, and α was determined according to the following equation.
α (mass%) = (mass occupied by an elementary molecular weight of 10,000 or less / (mass occupied by the total molecular weight) × 100

[Examples 1-17, Comparative Examples 1-4]
Polyphenylene ether (PPE-1 to PPE-5), (b) sulfur stabilizer (S1 to S3), (c) hindered phenol stabilizer (OH1), (d) vinyl aromatic compound and conjugated diene compound. A copolymer (SE1) containing at least one selected from the group consisting of a block copolymer obtained by copolymerization and a hydrogenated block copolymer obtained by further hydrogenation reaction of the block copolymer. , SE2) and (e) thermoplastic resins other than (a) (GP, AS, PhMI, PAR, LCP) and (f) flame retardants (FR1 to FR3) are blended in the proportions shown in Table 1 (parts by mass). ZONE1 on the feed side is set to 270 ° C, ZONE2 to 7 and the die head is set to 300 ° C. A twin-screw extruder with a vent port (ZSK-25; WERNER & PFLIDELER) , D = 25 mm, with L / D = 42), the rotational speed (N) = 300 rpm, discharge rate (Q) = so that the 12.0 kg / hr, and melt-kneaded to obtain pellets. As can be seen from the results in Table 1 and the above values of α and n (OH), the polyphenylene ether in the composition and the component (b) are very important for thin-walled heat aging resistance, rare inhibition and shinji characteristics. I understand that.
Example 18
The composition of Example 1 was carried out in the same manner as Example 1 except that the component (d) was not used.
Although a sheet having a thickness of 150 μm was molded, a sheet having a good appearance was obtained which did not occur at all and was excellent in hinge characteristics.
Example 19
The composition of Example 8 was carried out in the same manner as in Example 8, except that SE-4 was used instead of SE-3 as the component (d).
Although a sheet having a thickness of 150 μm was formed, a rough appearance occurred about 15 minutes after the start of film formation, and a die line was observed in the appearance of the obtained sheet.
Example 20
In the composition of Example 19, instead of SE-4, non-hydrogenated SE-2 and SE-3 having a hydrogenation rate of 93% were blended at a weight ratio of 1: 4, and (d) The same operation as in Example 19 was carried out except that the total amount was 12 parts. By this blending, the degree of apparent hydrogenation rate was 74.4% (= 93% × 0.8), and the hydrogenation rate of component (d) SE-4 used in Example 19 was almost 75%. Equally arranged.
Although a sheet having a thickness of 150 μm was formed, a large amount of nails were generated immediately after the start of film formation, and many die lines and gelled products were observed in the appearance of the obtained sheet. From a comparison between Example 19 and Example 20, the composition of the present invention is a hydrogenated block copolymer obtained by further hydrogenating a block copolymer obtained by copolymerizing a vinyl aromatic compound and a conjugated diene compound. It can be seen that it is more preferable that the polymer does not contain a non-hydrogenated block copolymer.
Example 21
From the composition of Example 10, it implemented like Example 10 except having used PPE-6 instead of PPE-1 as (a) component.
Although a sheet having a thickness of 150 μm was molded, a sheet having a good appearance was obtained which did not occur at all and was excellent in hinge characteristics. The obtained film was floated in a solder bath at about 220 ° C. for 1 minute, but no change such as deformation or swelling of the film was observed.
The resin composition of the present invention, and the molded product and film comprising the resin composition are excellent in heat aging resistance, particularly thin-walled heat aging resistance, film-forming properties, and shinji characteristics, and particularly in heat-resistant parts for automobiles and heat-resistant parts for office equipment. Can be suitably used.
