Abstract

324,251. Johnson, H. Feb. 6, 1929. Razors, safety.-In order to facilitate stropping a safety razor blade at an angle across the face of the strop, a blade holder has the handle inclined to the part which holds the blade. The holder comprises two plates 1, 2 connected by a hinge 5 to grip the blade, which is prevented from relative movement by projections 7 on one of the members engaging customary holes 8 in the blade and holes 9 in the other member. Extensions 3, 4 of the gripping plates, which may be of semicircular cross section, form the handle, the two parts of which are slightly separated in the closed position to allow of a grip on the blade. Locking means may be provided. The external surfaces of the gripping plates are made of semicircular or other form so that when the plate and blade edge are in contact with the strop the correct blade inclination is obtained.
