Abstract

279,840. Poirmeur, L. I. Oct. 26, 1926, [Convention date]. Control mechanism. -A manual operating device for tensioning a Bowden or like flexible cable 26, which may control a sliding shutter fitted on a petrol tube &c., comprises a rotary stud 16 integral with a guide flange or collar 18 and knob or handle 19 and formed with lugs 24 riding on cam surfaces 10 provided on a sleeve 9 retained in a casing 1 by screws 11 engaging recesses 12, the sleeve being pressed up against the screws 11 by a spring 13 so that it may yield to avoid straining the cable 26 and to facilitate engagement of the shaped ends of the lugs 24 with retaining notches 25 in the cam surfaces. The cable 26 passes through a boss 6 and the casing 1, and through the operating stud 16, being secured thereto by a screw 21.
