140,267. Lamplugh, H. A. May 20, 1919. Control mechanism.-In Bowden-wire mechanism for use with cycles, a spring 13 inside the handle-bar 20 bears against a collar 14 on the inner wire 8 and against a sleeve 10 bearing on the bracket 9 carrying the operating-lever 1 and prevents rattling of the lever due to stretch of the wire 8. The outer member 18 of the mechanism butts against a sleeve 17 fitting within a sleeve 16 surrounding the spring 13 and bearing against the sleeve 10. A collar 7 on the wire 8 bears on a loose sleeve 6 in the lever end. the sleeves 6, 10 being slotted to facilitate assembly.
