Definitions

  • the invention relates to a hand-held implement.
  • Such an implement such as. B. a vibratory rammer for soil compaction or a hammer, has a petrol engine for driving, but occasionally also a diesel or electric motor.
  • the engine is usually started by actuating the pull cable of a reversing starter. For this, the operator holds z. B. the tamper firmly with one hand while pulling the pull rope with the other hand. Since the engine's throttle must usually be set to full throttle to start, the engine immediately runs at a high speed, which is often even above the operating speed. This closes a centrifugal clutch which couples the engine to the ramming system, whereby the ramming system is put into operation.
  • a device for controlling the speed of an internal combustion engine in a work device that can be guided on a handle in which a detection device has a sensor system on the handle with which it can be recognized automatically. whether the implement is properly guided. If improper guidance is ascertained, the detection device only allows the engine speed to be set to a safety speed below an operating number of the internal combustion engine. The safety speed is below a switch-on speed at which z. B. engages a centrifugal clutch of a rammer.
  • the basic idea described in DE 198 34 443 is to be developed further by the present invention. The invention is therefore based on the object of specifying a hand-held implement in which dangerous working conditions are avoided by uncontrolled increases in engine speed and which enables convenient operation.
  • a sensor device for detecting the hands of an operator and generating a corresponding handle signal is provided in a guide handle of the implement. Furthermore, a safety controller is provided for evaluating the handle signal of the sensor device, recognizing a starting process of the engine and controlling a speed setting device, the speed setting being carried out according to the following rules:
  • a speed increase is only permitted up to a safety speed below the operating speed.
  • a speed setting device for controlling a speed setting device, the speed setting being carried out according to the following rules:
  • the second embodiment of the invention is based on the same principle as the first embodiment, but the sensor device on the guide handle has at least two sensor elements, each of which is assigned to one hand of the operator and generates a sensor signal when the associated hand is detected.
  • the sensor signals are evaluated, a starting process of the engine is recognized, and a speed setting device of the engine is controlled, the rules governing the control being modified somewhat compared to the first embodiment: when the engine is started, an increase in speed is also only permitted up to the safety speed. A speed increase beyond the safety speed off is only possible if both sensor signals are present, i.e. if the operator holds the guide handle with both hands. If only one sensor signal is present, there is no influence on the current speed, ie the previously set speed is maintained.
  • the speed can only be increased to the operating speed if the operator holds the handle with both hands. Otherwise the safety speed is maintained. However, if the engine is already at operating speed, it will be held even if the operator removes one hand from the guide handle and only guides the implement with the other hand. If both sensor signals are missing, the speed is limited to the safety speed.
  • Both embodiments of the invention have in common that the holding of the guide handle by the operator's hands is automatically recognized without the operator z. B. must be activated by pressing an additional safety or dead man's bracket. It only has to grip the handle in the usual way.
  • the engine speed is influenced without the operator operating the gas control lever of the engine
  • Pressure-sensitive, optical, capacitive or ultrasonic sensors are suitable as sensor elements.
  • the motor can be switched off by the safety controller when a predetermined period of time that can be detected by a switch-off timer has expired.
  • the switch-off timer is triggered in the absence of both sensor signals. In practice, this means that the implement switches itself off if the operator does not have his hands on the guide handle for the predetermined period. Thus, the operator does not have to worry about switching off the implement, and unnecessary and environmentally harmful idling of the implement is avoided.
  • the speed setting device is an ignition device of the engine, which at least has two maps.
  • a first map is provided for normal operation of the engine, in which the engine speed corresponds to a position of a gas control lever.
  • the safety controller then controls the ignition device by switching between the two maps.
  • Figure 1 shows schematically the structure of the circuit according to the invention in a working device according to the second embodiment of the invention.
  • Fig. 2 is a flowchart showing the rules of the safety control for the second embodiment of the invention.
  • the above-mentioned first embodiment of the invention represents a technically simpler variant. Its description will be made up at a later point in time on the basis of a comparison with the second embodiment. Therefore, the second embodiment of the invention is first explained with reference to the schematic illustration in FIG. 1 using the example of a vibration rammer for soil compaction.

  • the guide handle 1 is divided into a left grip area 2 for the left hand and a right grip area 3 for the right hand.
  • At least one sensor element is provided in each of the two grip areas 2, 3, which detects the presence of the associated hand.
  • Pressure-sensitive and optical sensors are particularly suitable as sensor elements, and capacitive or ultrasonic sensors are also possible.
  • a pressure-sensitive sensor detects the hand of the operator when it is at least on the guide handle 1.
  • suitable arrangement e.g. B. also from several sensors, it is possible to reliably detect that the hand not only abuts the guide handle 1, but also includes it with some force and thus holds it securely.
  • Optical sensors e.g. B. photocells or other light-sensitive elements, however, can also be used in such a way that an approximation of the hand of the operator is already detected. This may be more appropriate for certain purposes.
  • Each of the sensors generates a sensor signal, which is led to a safety controller 6 via lines 4, 5.

  • the safety controller 6 evaluates the sensor signals of the sensor elements. In addition, it is able to recognize the starting process of the engine. For this purpose, an additional sensor (not shown in FIG. 1) can be provided which detects an increase in engine speed from zero. As an alternative to this, an ignition device 7 of the engine can also be monitored, which also allows conclusions to be drawn about the engine speed based on the ignition times. The provision of energy in the ignition device 7 is also an indication that the engine has been started.
  • the safety controller 6 controls the ignition device 7 serving as the speed setting device in accordance with predetermined rules which are explained in more detail below.
  • the ignition device 7 is a generally known magnetic high-voltage capacitor ignition (MHKZ), which is statically attached to the motor housing and is excited by a two-pole magnet 8 cast in a fan wheel of the motor (not shown). From the energy thus obtained and the information about the period of the engine, the ignition device 7 determines the ignition timing of the Engine, which is stored in a map that defines the optimum ignition angle for each load of the engine, and generates an ignition spark on a spark plug 9. If the optimum engine speed is exceeded, the ignition device 7 shifts the ignition point in accordance with the map, which means that there is no further increase in speed. If the engine speed increases - e.g. B. due to decreasing load - still on, the ignition device 7 in addition to the late adjustment of ignition pulses until the engine is working again in the desired speed range.

  • the usual operating speed for operating the rammer is typically 4500 min “1 above the switching speed, while an idling speed (eg 3000 min " 1 ) is below the switching speed.
