Abstract
504,385. Rotary blowers. FLETCHER & WINTERBOTTOM, Ltd., and ALLEN, H. Sept. 29, 1937, No. 26313. [Class 110 (ii)] A blower or compressor comprises a central rotor 1 with four vanes 4, and two outer rotors 2, each having two vanes 5. The two outlets 21, 22, may lead to a common delivery such as an induction manifold of an internalcombustion engine, and the inlets 19, 20, be connected to separate carburetters. A multistage compressor may be formed of two sets of rotors on the same shafts 10, 11, 12, separated by a partition, the two sets being of different axial lengths. The vanes are hollowed out to reduce weight. Vernier adjusting means 17 enable the relative angular positions of the smaller rotors to be corrected with respect to the centre rotor. Labyrinth packings 18 are provided.
