Abstract

455,994. Rotary engines. COCKBURN, D. H., Rhodora, Richings Way, Iver, Bucking- hamshire. May 2, 1935, No. 13155. [Class 110 (ii)] An eccentric rotor B in a casing 10 is provided with two diametrical slots to carry vanes 21, 22 at right angles to each other, and carry packing pieces 31, pivotable on a ball-shaped portion 35, in the tips of the vanes. The rotor is integral with a shaft 19. An end plate 26, integral with a stub shaft 23, is secured by screws to the quadrants of the rotor left between the vanes slots. An annular rib 25 on the rotor is supported in a groove in the plate 26. Concentric packing grooves 40 are cut in the rotor end faces, and further grooves 41 provided as shown. The rotor is adjusted in its bearings 15 by means of a nut 43.
