Definitions
- the invention relates to a shelving system with support rods and shelf boards, which have fastening devices for fastening to the support rods at different heights.
- the support rods are combined to support frames, which are arranged on the right and left in the corner areas of the rectangular shelves. Bores are made in the support rods at different heights, into which fastening elements such as support pins can be inserted, which hold the shelves at different heights.
- the object of the invention is to provide a novel shelving system in which the height of the shelves is infinitely adjustable and in which the position of the shelves of adjacent shelf sections is adjustable within a certain angular range.
- each shelf in the middle of its two end edges each has a fastening device consisting of a pair of parallel clamping rods protruding from the end edge, which together via a clamping screw pulling the two clamping rods together are connected, a support rod being clamped between each pair of clamping rods.
- the clamping system chosen to fix the shelves instead of the holes and trunnions enables the racks to be clamped at any height.
- the shelves can extend in any radial direction, since the cross section of the cylindrical support rods is round and thus enables clamping in all positions.
- a central support rod can be provided, from which several (eg three or five) shelf sections extend radially outward in a star shape.
- Each shelf section is assigned an outer support rod, to which the outer ends of the shelf boards are clamped.
- the shelf unit can follow a curved building wall.
- the inner surfaces of the clamping rods resting against the cylindrical support rod should be as straight as possible so that they can be pushed over the circumference of the support rod without any problems. In this way it is possible to attach and remove a shelf at any point with the shelf installed. This is more difficult with clamping bars with rounded jaws. Either a clamping bar must be completely detached from the shelf and fastened again after inserting the rack bar into the curve of the other clamping bar. Alternatively, the shelf can be inserted from above, with the support rod being pushed into the opposite curves of the two clamping bars. It can be seen that clamping bars with straight inner surfaces clearly enable the simplest shelf assembly.
- the surface of the clamping rods facing outward with respect to the support rods can have any shape.
- the clamping bars are preferably offset from one another at the opposite end edges of the shelf boards by at least the amount of the height of the clamping bars.
- the clamping bars on the right end edge of the shelf boards can be embedded in the upper half of the shelf board and on the left end edge in the lower half. In this way, it is possible to arrange the shelf boards in the same plane with adjacent shelf sections.
- the clamping devices attached to the same support rod are offset from one another in such a way that they do not interfere with one another.
- the clamping screw should be located between the front edges of the shelves and the support rods. A clamping screw lying on the side of the support rods opposite the front edges would hinder the arrangement of shelf boards lying next to one another in the same plane. Likewise, in order to enable the arrangement of adjacent shelf boards at a height, the length of the free ends of the clamping bars beyond the clamping screws should be less than the diameter of the supporting bars so that the free ends do not protrude beyond the supporting bar and abut against the adjacent shelf board. The minimum length of the free ends must correspond to the radius of the support rods, so that the clamping rods clamp on two outer surface lines of the support rod.
- a clamping rod of a pair of clamping rods has a through hole for the clamping screw and the other clamping rod has a threaded bore.
- the screw head of the clamping screw lies beyond the through hole on the first clamping bar and pulls this when screwing the clamping screw into the threaded hole in the direction of the second clamping bar.
- each clamping bar has just a single fastening screw. This should be arranged in the middle of the section of the clamping bar that bears against the shelf, so that forces and moments that act on the connection between the shelf and the clamping bar are transmitted reliably. A fastening screw in one end area of the clamping bar tends to tear out.
- a simple and functional fastening is carried out by making a through hole in the shelf and a threaded hole in the clamping rod, into which the fastening screw can be screwed.
- the central clamping looks unstable at first glance due to two clamping bars in the middle area of the shelf edges, it has been shown that it can absorb very high forces.
- the support bar is formed from a steel tube with an outer diameter of 40 mm and the clamping bars are made from stainless square steel bars with an edge length of 10 mm, which are embedded in the shelf boards over a length of 60 mm and their free ends protruding about 45 mm from the shelf level, the shelves can easily be loaded with a weight of 80 kg.
- the support rod is designed as a threaded spindle and comprises a jacket tube with an internal thread and at least one spindle rod which is screwed into the internal thread of the jacket tube.
- a support plate is arranged, which can be placed on the one hand against the floor and on the other hand against the ceiling of a room.
- all elements of the support rod are made of stainless steel.
- the internal thread is formed by a threaded bush inserted into the casing tube.
- This threaded bushing has a radial shoulder on its outer circumference, against which the annular end face of the casing tube bears.
- a small radial threaded hole can be arranged in the wall of the threaded bushing, into which a grub screw can be screwed in order to fix the spindle rod screwed into the threaded bushing.
- the end of the spindle rod located in the casing tube should be provided with a guide disk which is guided in the casing tube essentially without play. In this way, the spindle rod is held in the radial direction within the casing tube both in the area of the internal thread and in the area of the guide disk and can reliably absorb lateral forces or moments.
- the support plates of the support rods should each be pivotally attached at their ends via ball joints. In this way, unevenness in the ceiling and floor can be compensated, and it is ensured that the support rods extend in the vertical direction.
- FIG. 1 shows the diagrammatic representation of a shelf system according to the invention
- FIG. 2 shows the plan view of a shelf of the shelf system from FIG. 1
- FIG. 3 shows the representation of the shelf from FIG. 2 cut along the section line III-III
- Fig. 4 is a sectional view of two support rods of the shelf system according to the invention with a shelf lying between them.
- the shelf system shown in Fig. 1 consists of four shelf sections 1, which are delimited on both sides by a support rod 2. Two adjacent shelf sections 1 each have a common support rod
- each shelf section comprises five shelf boards 3.
- the fastening devices consisting of a pair of parallel clamping rods 5 protruding from the sti are arranged.
- the heads of the clamping screws 6, which clamp the support rods 2 between each pair of clamping rods.
- the support rods 2 consist over most of their length of a casing tube 7, the ends of which are each provided with an internal thread, into each of which a spindle rod 8 is screwed.
- the upper and lower spindle rods 8 are provided on the one hand with a left-hand thread and on the other hand with a right-hand thread, so that the length of the support rod 2 increases when the casing tube 7 is rotated in one direction and decreases in the other direction.
- support plates 9 are fastened for support against the floor and ceiling of a room.
- only one end of the casing tube 7 is provided with a thread and a spindle rod 8 screwed therein.
- the shelf 3 and the clamping system attached to it can be seen more clearly in FIGS. 2 and 3.
- the shelf 3 has, starting from the front edges 4, milled grooves running in the longitudinal direction, into which the clamping bars 5 are inserted.
- the millings are worked into the right half of FIGS. 2 and 3 in the surface 10 of the shelf 3.
- In the left half of FIGS. 2 and 3 are the millings in the lower surface 11.
- the depth of the millings corresponds to half the thickness of the shelf 3.
- the millings extend from the front edges 4 over a length of 90 mm in the longitudinal direction of the shelf 3.
- the fastening screw 12 for the clamping bars is arranged.
- the fastening screw 12 penetrates a through hole 13 in the shelf 3 and is screwed into a threaded hole 14 of the respective clamping rod 5.
- the fastening screw 12 is not shown in the left half of FIG. 3.
- the clamping screw 6 penetrates a through hole on the screw head the fastening screw 6 adjacent clamping rod 5 and is screwed into a threaded hole in the opposite clamping rod 5.
- two shelf boards 3 fastened next to one another on the same casing tube 7 can be arranged at the same height.
- the shelves are to be arranged so that the clamping bars of one shelf 3 rest on the clamping bars 5 of the other shelf.
- the clamping screw 6 is arranged between the leading edge 4 and the casing tube 7 of the support rod 2.
- the length of the free ends of the clamping rods 5 beyond the clamping screw 6 is approximately three quarters of the diameter of the tubular casing 7.
- the support rods 2 are clamped between the ceiling 15 and the floor 16 of a room. Both against the ceiling 15 and against the floor 16 are support plates 9, in the middle of which a ball socket is incorporated, in which a hemispherical joint head 17 engages.
- the joint heads 17 are provided with a threaded bore 18 into which a holding screw (not shown) can be screwed, which holds the support plate 9 on the joint head 17 so that it can pivot in any direction by an angle of approximately 10 °.
- the upper joint heads 17 are connected to a cylindrical insertion part 19, which is inserted into an upper end of a casing tube 7.
- the lower joint heads 17 are connected to a small insertion pin 20 which is inserted into the lower end of a spindle rod 8.
- Both the upper plug-in part 19 and the plug-in pin 20 have a radial shoulder against which the jacket tube 7 is supported on the one hand and the end face of the spindle rod 8 on the other hand.
- diametrical bores can be provided, which pass through both connected parts and are inserted into the holding pin (not shown).
- a threaded bushing 21 is inserted into the lower end of each casing tube 7.
- the threaded bushing 21 can be fixed with respect to the casing tube 7 by a press fit, by soldering, gluing or screwing. The fixation is not absolutely necessary, however, since the individual parts of the support rod 2 fix each other due to their tension in the installed state.
- the spindle rod 8 is screwed into the threaded bushings 21.
- the length of the support rod 2 can be varied by rotating the threaded bushing 21 with respect to the spindle rod 8. At the free end of the spindle rod 8 in the casing tube
- a guide disc 22 is attached.
- the guide disk 22 is fixed with a holding screw 23 screwed into a central threaded bore of the spindle rod 8.
- a small, radially extending threaded bore 24 can be seen in the lower region of the threaded bushings 21. After tightening the support rod 2, a grub screw can be screwed in here, which presses against the thread of the 5 spindle rod 8 and fixes the support rod 2 in its clamped state.
