DESIGN FOR THE EXTERIOR OF A HOUSE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,089, dated August 12, 1890. Application filed July 15, 1890. Serial No. 358,852. Term of patent 7 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, ANTOINE LACROIX, J r., of the city of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for the Exterior of a House, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.

Figure 1 represents a perspective View of a house showing my design. Fig. 2 represents a horizontal section or plan of the first story. Fig. 3 represents a horizontal section or plan of the second story.

Similar letters of reference designate corresponding parts in all the figures.

A house of this design consists of two stories and an attic third story contained in a sloping roof, an extension projecting from the rear thereof and having a veranda on one side covered by a shed roof, a flat-faced bay projecting from the side thereof and surmounted by a gable roof, a deep octagonal bay to the first and second stories in the front thereof and su rmonn ted by a gable roof, and a veranda to the first story in front, extending from an entrance -porch in the angle formed by the bay to one side thereof and covered by a shed roof, all as hereinafter more particularly described in detail with reference to the drawings.

A B C designate the exterior of the first and second stories and attic, which are partly contained in an extension D, projecting rearwardly, a portion of which extends for onl one story, and is surmounted by a shed roof (I, while the main portion takes in the two stories, and at its opposite side has a veranda a at the first story with a hip roof I).

The side of the house has a flat-faced bay E, projecting from the side for two stories, and an attic in a'gable roof e, surmounting it.

The front of the house has a deep octagonal bay F to the first and second stories, the gable roof f of which also contains an attic. The main portion of the houseis surmounted by a sloping roof G, having a flattened crown g, from which roof the two gabled portions 0 and f project, an extension in each case of one side of the sloping roof forming one side of the gable. Dormer-windows II, with roofs 71, also project from said sloping roof G.

A veranda I, covered by a shed roof 1', extends along the front of the house, beginning at one side thereof and terminating with an entrance-porch having a gable roof j.

What I claim as my design is- The design for the exterior of a house, substantially as herein shown and described.
