DESIGN FOR THE EXTERIOR OF A HOUSE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,083, dated August 12, 1890.

Application filed July 15, 1890. Serial No. 358,847. Term of patent 7 years.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known thatI, WILLIAM K. BENEDICT, of the city and county of New York, in the State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for the EX- terior of a House, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanyingdrawings, forming a part thereof.

Figure 1 represents a perspective of a house showing my design. Fig. 2 represents a horizontal section or plan of the first story. Fig. 3 represents a horizontal section or plan of the second or attic story.

A house of this design consists of a first story and a second or attic story, the whole being surmounted by a curb roof, from the sides of which dormer portions project, a wing or extension projecting rearwardly, a portion projecting from the first and second stories on one side and a portion projecting from the second story on the opposite side and surmounted by a. curb roof projecting from the main roof, and a piazza in the front of the house at the first floor and extending round to one side thereof, the roof of the piazza.

A B designate the exterior of the first and second or attic stories, which are partly comprised in a wing or extension O, projecting rearwardly, said wing being of less width than the main portion of the house, the whole being surmounted by a curb roof F, from which dormer-windows a (I, having peaked roofs b, project. On one side of the house, from both first and second stories, a portion D projects, and from the second story on the opposite side a portion E, having a curb roof 0, projects. Along the front of the house at. the first story and round a portion of one side extends a piazza G, the roof of one portion of which forms the floor of a balcony Hat the second story.
