DESIGN FOR THE EXTERIOR OF A HOUSE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,088, dated August 12, 1890. Application filed July 15, 1890. Serial No. 3581861 Term of patent 7 years.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, ANTOINE LACROIX, Jr., of the city of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for the Exterior-of a IIouse,of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompan ying drawings, forming a part thereof.

Figure 1 represents a perspective View of a house showing my design. Fig. 2 represents a horizontal section or plan of the first story. Fig. 3 represents a horizontal section or plan of the second story.

Similar letters of reference designate corresponding parts in all the figures.

A house of this design consists of two stories with an attic third story contained within a hip roof, and has a rearwardly-projccting two-story extension, also having a hip roof, a flat-faced bay on one side and an octagonal bay on the opposite side thereof to the two stories, and an octagonal "bayin one corner at the front extending upwardly beyond the caves of the said roof, forming thereby a third story, and surmounted by a peaked root or spire, a portion of the front and one side having a veranda at the first story covered by a sloping roof and a veranda at the second story extending along the front from one side thereof to the angle formed by the bay with the front, all as hereinafter more particularly described with reference to the drawings.

A B C designate the exterior of the first and second stories and attic which are partially contained in a two-story extension 1), surmounted by a hip roof (I. The mainportion of the house is surmounted by a hip roof E, from which dormer-windmvs (I, having roots 1), project. One side of the house has a flatrfaced bay F projecting from the first and 40 second stories, and an octagonal bay (l on the opposite side thereof surmounted by a peaked roof q. The front of the house at one corner thereof has an octagonal bay ll extending upwardly for three stories, and is surmounted by a peaked roof or spire 71 A veranda I, having a sloping roof 1', extends along a portion of the front and one side of the house at the first story, and at the second story a. veranda J extends along the front from one side thereof to the octagonal bay II, and is covered by the main roof E. The rear extension also has a veranda L along one side thereof and covered by a shed-roof I.

\Vhat I claim as my design is The design for the exterior of ahouse, substantially as herein shown and described.
