To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, WILLIAM K. BENEDICT, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for the Exterior of e Residence, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying draw ings, forming a part thereof.

Figure 1 represents a perspective view of a, residence showing my design. Fig. 2 represents a horizontal section or plan of the first story. Fig. 3 represents a horizontal section or plan of the second story.

A residence embodying my design com prises afirst and second story and an attic story. At the first story is a porch B, which extends for a distance along the front of the residence, Wholly around one end, and for a distance around upon the rear of the residence. This porch 13, upon the front of the residence, is surmounted with a shed-roof O and upon the side of the residence with a shedroof D. At the corner of the residence, beyond the shed-roof D, the porch is surmounted with a, gable roof E. A flight of steps (1 leads to the porch B at the front of the residence, and a flight of steps b leads to the porch of Design No. 19,534, dated December 31, 1889.

at one corner. Between the roofs C D a tower F rises from the first story and continues upwardly at the exterior of the first and second story and the attic story. This tower is surmounted by a conical roof G. At the front of the residence, upon the second story, and surmounting the roof 0, is a porch H, which porch is surmounted hyacurvedreef I. At one sideof the curved roof I is a dormer-windew J, surmounted by a hipped roof K. At one side of the dormer-Window J is a gable roof L, which extends over an extension at one side of the residence.

Rising from the root D and projecting through the M. To the left of the bay M is a balcony N, which balcony is to the rear of the gable roof E. Snnnountin g the second story, at the side of the residence and above the roof D, is a, curved roof 0. Extending from the curved roof 0 is a dormer-window P, snrinountedby a gable roof.

What I claim is* The design for the exterior of a; residence, substantially as herein shown and described.
