Claims (10)
- ユーザーデータ領域、臨時欠陥管理領域及びスペア領域を含むディスクに発生する欠陥を管理する方法において、
欠陥管理のために欠陥領域の位置の情報及び代替領域の位置の情報を含む臨時欠陥情報と、前記臨時欠陥情報を管理するための情報であって、前記臨時欠陥情報が記録された位置を知らせる情報を含む臨時欠陥管理情報と、を臨時欠陥管理領域に記録する段階と、
前記ユーザーデータ領域に最後に記録された最後のデータのアドレスを、前記ディスクの欠陥管理のために、前記ディスクに設けられた前記臨時欠陥管理領域に記録する段階とを含み、
前記臨時欠陥管理領域は、ファイナライジング時に最終的に記録された前記臨時欠陥情報及び前記臨時欠陥管理情報が、それぞれ欠陥情報及び欠陥管理情報として記録される欠陥管理領域とは別途に設けられていることを特徴とする欠陥管理方法。 - 前記臨時欠陥情報に前記欠陥領域の状態を知らせる状態情報を含んで記録する段階を含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の欠陥管理方法。
- 前記状態情報は、前記欠陥領域が欠陥のある連続的なブロックであるか、単一欠陥ブロックであるかを知らせる情報を含むことを特徴とする請求項2記載の欠陥管理方法。
- 前記状態情報は、前記欠陥領域が欠陥のある連続的なブロックであり、対応する欠陥位置ポインターと代替位置ポインターとが、それぞれ前記欠陥領域の開始位置と前記代替データの開始位置とを示すことを知らせることを特徴とする請求項3記載の欠陥管理方法。
- 前記状態情報は、前記欠陥領域が欠陥のある連続的なブロックであり、対応する欠陥位置ポインターと代替位置ポインターとが、それぞれ前記欠陥領域の終了位置と前記代替データの終了位置とを示すことを知らせることを特徴とする請求項3記載の欠陥管理方法。
- ユーザーデータ領域と、臨時欠陥管理領域と、前記ユーザーデータ領域以外のスペア領域を含むディスクに発生する欠陥を管理する方法において、
前記ディスクの欠陥管理を実行するために、
前記臨時欠陥管理領域から、欠陥領域の位置の情報と代替領域の位置の情報とを含む臨時欠陥情報と、前記臨時欠陥情報が記録された位置を知らせる情報を含む臨時欠陥管理情報とを再生する段階を有し、
前記臨時欠陥管理領域は、前記ユーザーデータ領域で最後のユーザーデータが記録された位置を知らせる情報を含み、
前記臨時欠陥管理領域は、ファイナライジング時に最終的に記録された前記臨時欠陥情報及び前記臨時欠陥管理情報が、それぞれ欠陥情報及び欠陥管理情報として記録される欠陥管理領域とは別途に設けられていることを特徴とする欠陥管理方法。 - 前記臨時欠陥情報は、前記欠陥領域の状態を知らせる状態情報を含む請求項6記載の欠陥管理方法。
- 前記状態情報は、前記欠陥領域が欠陥のある連続的なブロックであるか、単一欠陥ブロックであるかを知らせる情報を含むことを特徴とする請求項7記載の欠陥管理方法。
- 前記状態情報は、前記欠陥領域が欠陥のある連続的なブロックであり、対応する欠陥位置ポインターと代替位置ポインターとが、それぞれ前記欠陥領域の開始位置と前記代替データの開始位置とを示すことを知らせることを特徴とする請求項8記載の欠陥管理方法。
- 前記状態情報は、前記欠陥領域が欠陥のある連続的なブロックであり、対応する欠陥位置ポインターと代替位置ポインターとが、それぞれ前記欠陥領域の終了位置と前記代替データの終了位置とを示すことを知らせることを特徴とする請求項8記載の欠陥管理方法。
