Abstract

259,957. Schorsch, L., and Akt.-Ges. J. J. Rieter et Cie. Oct. 8, 1926. Lap-forming apparatus; feeding carding- engines.-In the preparation of roving from cotton and analogous fibrous materials the lap is fed transversely on to the feed-apron of a carding- engine from a roller mounted above and traversed across the feed apron, and is thus doubled any desired number of times. The lap roller 1 and delivery cylinder 3 are reciprocated transversely to the feed-apron 4, the speeds being regulated to give the required number of doublings of the fleece. The laps to be fed to the carding-engine may be prepared as described in Specification 249,564.
