Carding-engines.-A carding-engine to be used in the preparation of a wool substitute from jute waste mixed or not with artificial silk yarn waste as described in Specification 293,161, [Class 120 (iii), Yarns &c.], comprises three lickers-in E, G, J between the feed rollers and the cylinder R. Strippers F. H are arranged above and between the lickers-in. A roller D and mote knife K are provided below the first licker-in, and an undercasing L, M, N, P below the other rollers. Workers and strippers S, T are arranged round the cylinder and the fleece is doffed as in a cotton carding- engine.
