Abstract

193,807. Deppermann, H., and Landwehr, C. Feb. 25, 1922, [Convention date]. Carding-engines.-In the preparation of jute for spinning, the material is prepared for the drawing- frame in a single carding-machine. The carding- machine may be a finisher card modified by the provision of a feed roll 4 and trough 5 and a conveyer 6 long enough to take the full length of the jute fibres, or a breaker card fitted with two or more pairs of worker and stripper rolls, the speed ratio of the rolls being increased. The material may be treated in a teaser and fed to the carding- machine by a tow-spreader.
