Description

   L'exemple suivant illustre l'invention.

   Exemple

Process for the preparation of salts of acids derived from thioglycolic acid
The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of salts of diamines or polyamines and of acids originating from the action of thioglycolic acid on unsaturated fatty acids, this process being characterized in that the acid in question with the amine in the same solvent.

The salts obtained in accordance with the invention, which are new compounds in which each acid function of the starting di- or polyacid neutralizes an amine function of the di- or polyamine employed, are for example in the form of a powder. white crystalline or in the form of an oil, for example in the case of (carboxy-methyl-thio) -stearic acid. The white crystalline powder is soluble in water, alcohols, phenols. The oil is soluble in alcohol and insoluble in benzene. Heating transforms them into corresponding amides with the departure of a water molecule. The new salts find their use as raw materials, intermediate products or copolymerization agents during the preparation of certain plastics.

They are most conveniently obtained by reacting the di- or polyacid derived from thioglycolic acid in a solvent, preferably alcohol, with ethylenediamine, hexamethylenediamine, decamethylenediamine, etc. ., at room temperature or hot. Depending on the nature of the acid used, the salt crystallizes directly from the solvent in which it is formed, or it is precipitated by adding a solvent in which it is not soluble. The solvent can still be evaporated to dryness and the reaction product purified using a solvent which dissolves the impurities.

The following example illustrates the invention.

   Example
Hexamethylenediamine salt of the acid (car-
 boxy-methyl-thio) -stearic:
The hot solutions of 23 g of hexamethylenediamine in 100 cm3 of ethanol and of 75 g of 9- (carboxy-methyl-thio) -stearic acid (resulting from the action of the acid) are mixed with good stirring. thioglycolic on oleic acid) in 100 cm3 of ethanol. After leaving for two hours, 100 cm3 of benzene are added. The reaction product separates. The benzene-alcoholic solution is decanted and again 100 cm3 of benzene are added and the treatment is repeated three times. The combined reaction products are washed by decantation with benzene, until they no longer contain ethanol, and most of the benzene is freed by heating at 1300 C.

90 g of a thick oil soluble in alcohol and insoluble in benzene are thus obtained.
