Abstract
On décrit des matièresminérales en flocs qui peuvent être utilisées pour préparer des articles résistant à l'eau et résistant aux températures élevées. Pour préparer ces matières, on met en contact un silicate en feuilles 2:1 dispersé, présentant une densité moyenne de charge qui va d'environ -0,4 à environ -1, provenant en particulier de mica, vermiculite ou leurs mélanges, et qui contient des ions interstitiels échangeables avec au moins une espèce d'un cation d'échange dérivé de composés essentiellement constitués par des composés diammonium ou triammonium, et on conduit une réaction d'échange d'ions entre au moins quelques-uns des ions intertitiels échangeables et au moins quelques-uns des cations d'échanges, pour floculer ainsi le silicate.
