DESIGN FOR A CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,613, dated March 24, 1891.
Application filed February 7, 1891- Serial No. 380,658. Term of patent 316 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, PAUL PIGNOT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Hastings, \Vestchester county, New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photograph, which forms a part of the same.
The invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.
The accompanying photograph is a face view of a carpet, showing my new design.
My design consists of the body A and the border B. The body A consists of groups of conventionalized flower and leaf forms lying on a ground ornamented with various somewhat scroll-shaped leaf and branch forms. The border B has an inner ornamental band margin consisting of groups of conventionalized flower and leaf forms lying on a ground of leaf and branch forms and an outer margin of irregular ornamentation.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. The design for carpets, consisting of the body A, substantially as shown.
2. The design for carpets, consisting of the border B, substantially as shown.
3. The design for carpets, consisting of the body A and the border B, substantially as shown.
