DESIGN FOR A CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,278, dated November 11, 1890.
Application filed October 10, 1890. Serial No. 367,630. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, HENRY W. PARTON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Yonkers, \Vestchester county, New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification, reference beinghad to the accompanying photograph, which forms a part of the same.
The invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similar fabrics and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.
The accompanying photograph is a face view of a carpet showing my new design.
My design consists of a body A and a borderB. The body A is composed of waterlilyshaped flower forms resting on lily-pads of irregular outline. There are also bud-shaped forms of the water-lily, the whole resting on a groundwork having a watery appearance. The border B is com posed of Water-lily-shaped flower and bud forms similar to those in the body A and resting on a groundwork of a watery appearance. There is also an inner :5 margin of grass forms and an outer margin of grass and lily-pad forms.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. The design for carpets, consisting of the 30 body A, substantially as shown.
2. The design for carpets, consisting of the border 1 substantially as shown.
3. The design for carpets, consisting of the body A and the border B, substantially as 35 shown.
