DESIGN FOR A CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,281, dated November 11, 1890.
Application filed October 10, 1890- Serial No. 367,633. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, HENRY W. PARTON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Yonkers. \Vestchester county, New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photograph, which forms a part of the same.
The invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.
The accompanying photograph is a face View of a carpet showing my new design.
My design consists of the body A and the border B. The body A is composed of a group of conventionalized leaf and flowerfOIIDS with extending branches ornamented with conventionalized leaf and bud forms. The border B is composed of a double inner margin of gem-shaped 0rnan1entations,a middle portion having a large group of leaf and flower forms with extending branches ornamented with conventionalized leaf and bud forms and smaller groups of conventionalized flower forms, and an outer margin of wavy bands of gem-shaped ornamentations.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. The design for carpets, consisting of the body A, substantially as shown.
2. The design for carpets, consisting of the border B, substantially as shown.
3. The design for carpets, consisting of the body A and the border B, substantially as shown.
