SE REFIERE A UN METODO PARA LA PRODUCCION DE ACIDO 3-HIDROXI-3-METILBUTIRICO QUE COMPRENDE: LA CONVERSION ENZIMATICA DE ACETONA Y UN COMPUESTO DE FORMULA (I) QUE PROPORCIONA UN GRUPO ACETILO ACTIVADO, DONDE: X ES S-CH2-CH2-NH-CO-CH2-CH2-NH-CO-CH(OH)-C(CH3)2-CH2-O-PO2H-C10H13N5O7P (COENZIMA A); UTILIZANDO UNA ENZIMA CAPAZ DE CATALIZAR LA FORMACION DE UN ENLACE COVALENTE, ENTRE EL ATOMO DE CARBONO DEL GRUPO OXO DE LA ACETONA Y EL GRUPO METILO DE DICHO COMPUESTO QUE PROPORCIONA UN GRUPO ACETILO ACTIVADO, EN PRESENCIA DE UN ORGANISMO RECOMBINANTE CAPAZ DE PRODUCIR ACETONA Y QUE EXPRESA LA ENZIMA QUE TIENE ACTIVIDAD SINTASA HMG (CoA).
