Description
본 발명은 니켈 미분 및 그 제조방법에 관한 것이다. 보다 구체적으로는, 적층 세라믹 콘덴서의 내부 전극 등의 전자부품용 전극 재료로서 이용되는 니켈 미분 및 그 제조방법에 관한 것이다.The present invention relates to nickel fine powder and a method for producing the same. More specifically, the present invention relates to a nickel fine powder used as an electrode material for electronic parts such as internal electrodes of a multilayer ceramic capacitor, and a manufacturing method thereof.
최근의 전자기기와 이에 이용되는 부품용 재료의 소형화의 요구에 대응하여, 전자기기·부품용 재료로서 이용되고 있는 니켈 미분에 대해서도, 미립화가 한층 더 요구되고 있다. 또한, 미립화 이외에도 많은 우수한 특성이 니켈 미분에 요구되고 있다.In response to the recent demand for miniaturization of electronic devices and parts materials used therein, atomization is further required for nickel fine powders used as electronic devices and parts materials. In addition to the atomization, many excellent properties are required for nickel fine powder.
For example, in a multilayer ceramic capacitor (hereinafter referred to as "MLCC"), one of the characteristics required is a small particle size corresponding to thinning of the internal electrode material for MLCC. Conventionally, the thickness of the internal electrode and the thickness of the dielectric of MLCC were 1 micrometer or more. For this reason, the nickel fine powder used as the internal electrode of MLCC has a large average particle diameter and particle size distribution, the size of the coarse particle | grains which can be mixed is large, and the mixing probability was also high compared with the present.
In the next-generation MLCC, the thickness of the internal electrode and the thickness of the dielectric are remarkable, and the nickel has a small average particle diameter and a narrow particle size distribution for the internal electrode material in order to reduce the rate at which the dielectric breaks through metal particles and shorts between the electrodes. Differential is required. Specifically, the average particle diameter is 0.2 µm or less, and it is essential that the coarse particles are reduced to strictly control the coarse particle content.
If the amount of the ultrafine particles is large with respect to the average particle diameter, these ultrafine particles are more likely to cause abnormal shrinkage due to oxidative expansion or sintering at low temperature than the particles close to the average particle diameter in the calcining process of MLCC. May cause layer separation. In addition, in the firing step, since the nickel fine powder having low crystallinity exhibits a behavior close to the nickel fine powder having a large amount of ultrafine particles, it is also required to have high crystallinity.
이들과 같은 요구에 대한 해결책으로서, 니켈 미분의 평균 입경의 미세화, 조대 입자 혼입율의 저감, 초미세입자의 혼입율 저감이 제안되었고, 대표적인 니켈 분말에 대해서는, 이하와 같은 것이 있다.As a solution to these demands, refinement of the average particle diameter of nickel fine powder, reduction of the coarse particle mixing rate, and reduction of the mixing rate of ultrafine particles have been proposed, and typical nickel powders include the following.
For example, in
Moreover, in patent document 2, the nickel fine powder whose average particle diameter is 0.2 micrometer-0.6 micrometer and whose coarse particle presence probability of 2.5 times or more of the average particle diameter is 0.1% or less on the basis of the number is proposed. However, in the technique described in this Patent Document 2, there is no classification step, but since the gas phase reduction method of nickel chloride vapor is used in the same manner as the technique described in the
In addition, Patent Document 3 proposes a nickel fine powder having an average particle diameter of 0.1 µm to 1.0 µm and a probability of existence of coarse particles having a particle diameter of 2 µm or more based on the number of 7 million or less. However, also in the technique described in this patent document 3, since the vapor phase reduction method and wet classification of nickel chloride vapor are used, dry coagulation cannot be avoided. In addition, it is considered that the amount of incorporation of 2 µm or more in particle size is also 700 ppm, which increases the probability of occurrence of defective products during MLCC production.
In addition, in patent document 4, the average primary particle diameter is 0.05 micrometer-1.0 micrometer, and the particle number which has a particle diameter 1.5 times or more of the average particle diameter by the laser diffraction scattering type particle size distribution measurement is 20% or less of the total particle number. A nickel fine powder is proposed in which the number of particles having a particle diameter of 0.5 times or less of the average particle diameter is 5% or less of the total number of particles, and the average crystallite diameter in the nickel particles is 400 angstroms or more. However, in the nickel fine powder described in this patent document 4, although the average crystallite diameter is 400 angstroms or more, the crystallite diameter is smaller than 1/10 or less compared with the average particle diameter, and the crystallinity does not differ from the fine powder produced by the wet method, and it is good crystallinity. Can not.
이상과 같이, 조대 입자의 혼입이나 응집이 적고, 결정성이 우수하며, 저비용으로 제작할 수 있는 니켈 분말은 개발되어 있지 않아, 공업적으로 용이한 제조방법과 함께, 그 개발이 요구되고 있다.As mentioned above, nickel powder which has little mixing and aggregation of coarse particles, is excellent in crystallinity and can be produced at low cost has not been developed, and its development is required with an industrially easy manufacturing method.
본 발명은, 전술한 종래 기술의 문제점을 감안하여 이루어진 것으로서, 조대 입자의 혼입이 적고, 결정성이 우수하며, 저비용으로 제조할 수 있는 니켈 미분과, 공업적으로 용이한 그 제조방법을 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been made in view of the above-described problems of the prior art, and provides nickel fine powder which can be produced with little coarse particle mixing, excellent in crystallinity, and which can be produced at low cost, and an industrially easy method for producing the same. For the purpose of

As a result, the nickel fine powder obtained by thermal plasma is classified in a water-cooled jacketed cyclone, thereby eliminating coarse particles. It discovered that it can manufacture efficiently, and came to this invention.
That is, the nickel fine powder which concerns on this invention is nickel fine powder obtained by evaporating, condensing, and micronizing nickel by thermal plasma, The number average particle diameter calculated | required through the scanning electron microscope observation is 0.05 micrometer-0.2 micrometer, and sulfur content is 0.1. 여기서, 상기 니켈 미분은, 비표면적 직경과 개수 평균 입경의 차가, 비표면적 직경에 대하여 15% 이하인 것이 바람직하다. 또한, X선 회절 분석에 의해 구해지는 결정자 직경이, 상기 개수 평균 입경에 대하여 66% 이상인 것이 바람직하다.Here, it is preferable that the difference of a specific surface area diameter and a number average particle diameter of the said nickel fine powder is 15% or less with respect to a specific surface area diameter. Moreover, it is preferable that the crystallite diameter calculated | required by X-ray diffraction analysis is 66% or more with respect to the said number average particle diameter.

In a reducing atmosphere containing a gas, a micronizing step of vaporizing the nickel raw material prepared in the raw material preparation step by thermal plasma, and condensing and micronizing the nickel vapor containing sulfur and oxygen generated, and the micronized nickel obtained in the micronizing step A coarse particle removal step of continuously introducing into the water-cooled jacketed cyclone to remove coarse particles, cooling the finely divided nickel, a recovery step of recovering the cooled finely divided nickel, and a weakly oxidizing property containing oxygen Gradually oxidize the finely divided nickel surface by maintaining in an inert gas atmosphere of Including the redox process, the inlet velocity of the swirling gas in the water-cooled jacketed cyclone is greater than 10 m / sec, and is 50 m / sec or less.
여기서, 수냉재킷식 사이클론에서의 선회 가스의 입구 속도는 14 m/sec 이상, 50 m/sec 이하인 것이 바람직하다.Here, it is preferable that the inlet velocity of the turning gas in a water cooling jacket type cyclone is 14 m / sec or more and 50 m / sec or less.
또한, 원료 조제 공정에서, 니켈, 산화니켈, 유황 화합물로부터 적어도 니켈을 선택하여 배합하는 것이 바람직하다.In addition, in a raw material preparation process, it is preferable to select and mix | blend at least nickel from nickel, nickel oxide, and a sulfur compound.
또한, 열플라즈마로서 고주파 유도 플라즈마를 이용하는 것이 바람직하다.It is also preferable to use a high frequency induction plasma as the thermal plasma.
The nickel fine powder which concerns on this invention is high purity and excellent in crystallinity, and is suitable as an electronic device and components material. In particular, when the nickel powder for internal electrode formation of the next-generation MLCC is used, the average particle diameter is 0.2 µm or less, and since coarse particle mixing is controlled, it is possible to prevent the short circuit between the electrodes by breaking through the dielectric particles. Can be. Moreover, since the manufacturing method is simple and inexpensive, it can be implemented on an industrial scale, and its industrial value is very large.

[1. 니켈 미분][One. Nickel powder]
Nickel fine powder which concerns on one Embodiment of this invention is nickel fine powder obtained by evaporating, condensing, and micronizing nickel by thermal plasma, The number average particle diameter calculated | required through scanning electron microscope observation is 0.05 micrometer-0.2 micrometer, and sulfur content It is 0.1 mass%-0.5 mass%, and the ratio which the coarse particle of 0.6 micrometers or more is contained in nickel fine powder is 50 ppm or less in number basis, It is characterized by the above-mentioned.
Nickel fine powder obtained by thermal plasma (hereinafter referred to as "thermal plasma nickel fine powder") has high purity without mixing of chlorine like nickel fine powder obtained by vapor phase reduction method of nickel chloride vapor. In addition, since this nickel fine powder is produced by condensation and cooling of nickel vapor, by using thermal plasma, fine particles having high crystallinity and substantially spherical shape can be obtained. This property is suitable as a material for electronic devices and components, in particular, a material for MLCC internal electrodes.
한편, 종래의 열플라즈마 니켈 미분은, 그 생성 과정에서 고온으로 유지되는 시간이 길기 때문에, 입자 성장을 일으켜 조대 입자가 혼입된다는 문제점을 갖고 있었다. 본 실시형태에 따른 니켈 미분은, 그 열플라즈마 니켈 미분을 개량하는 것에 의해 이루어진 것이다. 이하, 본 실시형태에 따른 니켈 미분의 구성 요소별로, 보다 상세히 설명한다.On the other hand, the conventional thermal plasma nickel fine powder has a problem of causing grain growth and mixing of coarse particles because of the long time to be maintained at high temperature in the production process. The nickel fine powder which concerns on this embodiment is achieved by improving the thermal plasma nickel fine powder. Hereinafter, the component of the nickel fine powder which concerns on this embodiment is demonstrated in detail.
<(1) 평균 입경><(1) Average particle size>
The nickel fine powder which concerns on this embodiment is 0.05 micrometer-0.2 micrometer in number average particle diameter calculated | required through scanning electron microscope observation. This nickel fine powder is thermal plasma nickel fine powder, and since the secondary particle which the primary particle aggregated was hardly formed, a number average particle diameter is determined by measuring a primary particle diameter. In addition, a number average particle diameter means the particle diameter average value of the predetermined number of nickel particle measured from the visual field of a scanning electron microscope (SEM).
When the number average particle diameter of nickel fine powder is less than 0.05 micrometer, aggregation will become severe and when made into the paste used for formation of a MLCC internal electrode, it will not be able to disperse | distribute uniformly in a paste, and formation of an electrode by application | coating becomes difficult. In addition, the presence of the agglomerated powder increases the apparent particle size, cannot cope with the thinned electrode, and increases the shrinkage due to sintering during firing. On the other hand, when number average particle diameter exceeds 0.2 micrometer, it cannot respond to thin film electrode. In view of this, by setting the average particle diameter to 0.05 µm to 0.2 µm, it can be uniformly dispersed in the paste and can correspond to the thinned electrode.
<(2) 조대 입자><(2) coarse particle>
본 실시형태에 따른 니켈 미분은, 1차 입자 직경 0.6 ㎛ 이상의 조대 입자의 함유 비율이 개수 기준으로 50 ppm 이하이다.As for the nickel fine powder which concerns on this embodiment, the content rate of the coarse particle of 0.6 micrometers or more of primary particle diameter is 50 ppm or less on a number basis.
조대 입자가 포함되는 비율이 개수 기준 50 ppm을 초과하면, 박층화된 MLCC에서는, 유전체를 금속 입자가 돌파함으로써 생기는 전극간의 쇼트가 많아져, MLCC로서 충분한 용량이 얻어지지 않는다. 전극간의 쇼트를 방지하는 관점에서, 보다 바람직하게는, 조대 입자가 포함되는 비율을 30 ppm 이하로 한다.When the proportion of coarse particles contained exceeds 50 ppm by number, in the thinned MLCC, the short between the electrodes caused by the breakthrough of the metal particles in the dielectric increases, and a sufficient capacity as the MLCC is not obtained. From the viewpoint of preventing the short between the electrodes, the proportion of coarse particles is more preferably 30 ppm or less.
<(3) 유황 함유량><(3) sulfur content>
본 실시형태에 따른 니켈 미분은, 유황 함유량이 0.1 질량%∼0.5 질량%이고, 바람직하게는 0.15 질량%∼0.4 질량%이다.The nickel fine powder which concerns on this embodiment has a sulfur content of 0.1 mass%-0.5 mass%, Preferably it is 0.15 mass%-0.4 mass%.
If the sulfur content of the nickel fine powder is less than 0.1% by mass, the formation of a coating layer on the surface containing nickel sulfide and nickel oxide is not sufficient, and the effect of increasing the temperature of shrinkage start temperature of the nickel fine powder during MLCC firing and reducing the shrinkage rate Is not sufficiently obtained, and the breakage and layer separation are more likely to occur in the electrode. More preferably, it is good to make it 0.15 mass% or more from a viewpoint of fully exhibiting the effect of reducing a shrinkage rate.
한편, 유황 함유량이 0.5 질량%를 초과하면, 소성시의 부식성 가스의 발생이나, 전자부품 또는 전자기기의 회로의 부식 문제가 생긴다. 또한, 800℃ 부근부터 SOx 가스가 대량으로 발생하여, MLCC의 크랙이나 전극의 층분리 등이 생긴다.On the other hand, when sulfur content exceeds 0.5 mass%, the generation of corrosive gas at the time of baking, and the corrosion problem of the circuit of an electronic component or an electronic device will arise. In addition, a large amount of SOx gas is generated from around 800 ° C, causing cracks in MLCCs and layer separation of electrodes.
<(4) 비표면적 직경과 개수 평균 입경의 차><(4) Difference between Specific Surface Area Diameter and Number Average Particle Size>
본 실시형태에 따른 니켈 미분은, 비표면적 직경과 개수 평균 입경의 차가, 비표면적 직경에 대하여 15% 이하인 것이 바람직하고, 10% 이하인 것이 더 바람직하다.As for the nickel fine powder which concerns on this embodiment, it is preferable that the difference of a specific surface area diameter and a number average particle diameter is 15% or less with respect to a specific surface area diameter, and it is more preferable that it is 10% or less.
Here, a specific surface area diameter is the value computed from the specific surface area of nickel fine powder assuming a particle as a true spherical particle. Therefore, the smaller the difference between the specific surface area diameter and the number average particle diameter, the closer the particle shape of the nickel fine powder is to the true sphere and the index of the true structure of the nickel fine powder. The finer the fine powder, the better the paste is obtained, and the better the properties such as the film density of the film obtained by applying the paste.
비표면적 직경과 개수 평균 입경의 차가 비표면적 직경에 대하여 15%를 초과하면, 진구성이 저하되어 양호한 페이스트를 얻을 수 없고, 충분한 특성을 갖는 막을 얻을 수 없을 우려가 있다. 또한, 니켈 미분의 비표면적은 질소 가스 흡착에 의한 BET법에 의해 구해진다.If the difference between the specific surface area diameter and the number average particle diameter exceeds 15% with respect to the specific surface area diameter, the true structure is lowered, and a good paste cannot be obtained, and a film having sufficient characteristics may not be obtained. In addition, the specific surface area of nickel fine powder is calculated | required by the BET method by nitrogen gas adsorption.
<(5) 결정자 직경><(5) crystallite diameter>
본 실시형태에 따른 니켈 미분은, X선 회절 분석에 의해 구해지는 결정자 직경이 개수 평균 입경에 대하여 66% 이상인 것이 바람직하다. As for the nickel fine powder which concerns on this embodiment, it is preferable that the crystallite diameter calculated | required by X-ray diffraction analysis is 66% or more with respect to a number average particle diameter.
The crystallite diameter is an index of the single crystal size constituting the nickel particles, and the closer the crystallite diameter is to the number average particle diameter, the closer the nickel particles are to the single crystal, that is, the crystallinity is excellent. The crystallite diameter greatly influences the progress of the sintering, and the crystallinity is good, that is, the crystallite diameter is large with respect to the number average particle diameter, because the shrinkage starting temperature is higher than that of the nickel fine powder having a similar average particle diameter, and the shrinkage rate due to the sintering is small.
MLCC 소성시에 과소결에 의한 수축을 억제하기 위해서는, 결정자 직경이 70% 이상인 것이 바람직하다. 또한, 결정자 직경이 개수 평균 입자 직경에 대하여 100%인 경우, 니켈 입자가 단결정인 것을 나타내기 때문에, 통상은 100%를 초과하지는 않는다.In order to suppress shrinkage by oversintering during MLCC firing, the crystallite diameter is preferably 70% or more. In addition, when the crystallite diameter is 100% with respect to the number average particle diameter, since nickel particle represents a single crystal, it does not usually exceed 100%.
<(6) 산소 함유량><(6) oxygen content>
본 실시형태에 따른 니켈 미분은, 산소 함유량이 0.4 질량%∼1.5 질량%인 것이 바람직하다.It is preferable that the nickel fine powder which concerns on this embodiment is 0.4 mass%-1.5 mass% of oxygen content.
In the nickel fine powder according to the present embodiment, the outermost surface of the surface is composed of a mixture containing nickel sulfide and nickel oxide, and preferably the concentration distribution of nickel sulfide is maximum at the outermost surface, and oxygen (atoms) A coating layer having a thickness of 2 nm to 15 nm is formed, and by this coating layer, good shrinkage start temperature and shrinkage rate can be obtained. The nickel sulfide may take the form of nickel sulfide (NiS) or oxidized nickel sulfate (NiSO 4 ). That is, nickel sulfide in a coating layer contains nickel sulfide and nickel sulfate. Therefore, when oxygen content is less than 0.4 mass%, formation of the coating layer of a surface is not enough and a favorable shrinkage start temperature and a shrinkage rate cannot be obtained. Moreover, since the surface activity of nickel fine powder is high, there exists a possibility that severe oxidation may be caused even by slight heating in air | atmosphere. On the other hand, when oxygen content exceeds 1.5 mass%, gas generation will become severe at the time of baking in weakly reducing atmospheres, such as hydrogen containing gas, and cracks of MLCC, layer separation of an electrode, etc. will arise.

In a reducing atmosphere containing a micronized raw material, the raw material is vaporized by thermal plasma, and a micronized process of condensing and micronizing nickel vapor containing sulfur and oxygen generated, and the obtained micronized nickel is continuously introduced into a water-cooled jacketed cyclone to coarse Coarse particle removal process for removing particles and cooling micronized nickel, recovery process for recovering micronized nickel, and recovered micronized nickel are maintained in oxygen-inert, oxidizing inert gas atmosphere to gradually oxidize micronized nickel surface. And a gradual oxidation process of obtaining nickel fine powder.

<(2) 니켈 미분의 제조방법><(2) Manufacturing method of nickel fine powder>
이하, 전술과 같은 니켈 미분의 제조장치(1) 등을 이용하여 실행되는, 본 실시형태에 따른 니켈 미분의 제조방법을 공정별로 설명한다.Hereinafter, the manufacturing method of the nickel fine powder which concerns on this embodiment performed using the above-mentioned nickel fine
<(2-1) 원료 조제 공정><(2-1) Raw Material Preparation Step>
원료 조제 공정에서는, 니켈 원료중의 니켈과 유황의 합계에 대하여 유황 함유량이 0.1 질량%∼0.5 질량%가 되도록 니켈 원료를 조제한다.In a raw material preparation process, a nickel raw material is prepared so that sulfur content may be 0.1 mass%-0.5 mass% with respect to the sum total of nickel and sulfur in a nickel raw material.
이 원료 조제 공정에서는, 니켈, 산화니켈, 유황 화합물로부터 적어도 니켈을 선택하고 배합하여, 니켈 원료를 얻는다. 이와 같이, 니켈원으로서 적어도 니켈을 선택함으로써, 다음 공정인 미분화 공정에서 산화니켈의 지나친 혼입을 억제할 수 있는 점에서 바람직하다.In this raw material preparation step, at least nickel is selected and blended from nickel, nickel oxide, and a sulfur compound, and a nickel raw material is obtained. Thus, by selecting at least nickel as a nickel source, it is preferable at the point which can suppress excessive mixing of nickel oxide in the micronization process which is the next process.
In this raw material preparation process, it mix | blends so that sulfur content may be 0.1 mass%-0.5 mass% with respect to the sulfur content of the nickel fine powder obtained, ie, the sum total of nickel and sulfur in a nickel raw material. When sulfur content in a nickel raw material is less than 0.1 mass%, the sulfur content of the nickel fine powder obtained will become less than 0.1 mass%. On the other hand, when sulfur content in a nickel raw material exceeds 0.5 mass%, the sulfur content of the nickel fine powder obtained will exceed 0.5 mass%.
Sulfur should only be contained in either nickel or nickel oxide used as a raw material, and if nickel is selected as a main raw material, and if the nickel does not contain a predetermined amount of sulfur, it will contain sulfur or nickel oxide or sulfur compounds. Any one or both may be blended. In the case where the sulfur compound is used as a raw material, sulfur may be unevenly distributed in the nickel fine powder obtained. Thus, nickel having a sulfur content of 0.1% by mass to 0.5% by mass is prepared as a nickel raw material or sulfur. It is preferable to mix | blend nickel oxide containing nickel and nickel, and to prepare the nickel raw material which will be 0.1 mass%-0.5 mass% of sulfur content.
유황을 0.1 질량%∼0.5 질량% 포함하는 니켈은, 유황 화합물의 수용액에 니켈을 침지하여, 니켈 표면에 유황을 흡착시킴으로써 얻어진다. 유황의 함유량은, 수용액 속의 유황 화합물량으로 용이하게 조정할 수 있고, 수용액 속에서 니켈 표면에 유황을 흡착시킨 후는 통상의 방법으로 건조시키면 된다.Nickel containing 0.1 mass%-0.5 mass% of sulfur is obtained by immersing nickel in the aqueous solution of a sulfur compound, and making sulfur adsorb | suck on the surface of nickel. The content of sulfur can be easily adjusted by the amount of sulfur compound in the aqueous solution. After the sulfur is adsorbed on the surface of nickel in the aqueous solution, the sulfur content may be dried in a conventional manner.
또한, 유황을 함유한 산화니켈로서는, 예컨대 황산니켈을 배소(焙燒)하여 제조된 산화니켈을 이용할 수 있다. 이러한 산화니켈은, 일반적으로 시판되고 있고, 산화니켈에 함유되는 유황량을 분석하여, 니켈 원료중의 유황 함유량이 원하는 양이 되도록 산화니켈을 배합하면 좋다.As the nickel oxide containing sulfur, for example, nickel oxide produced by roasting nickel sulfate can be used. Such nickel oxide is generally marketed, and the amount of nickel contained in the nickel oxide may be analyzed by analyzing the amount of sulfur contained in the nickel oxide.
니켈 원료로서 이용하는 니켈 또는 산화니켈의 형상은, 특별히 한정되는 것이 아니지만, 공급의 용이를 이유로, 분말인 것이 바람직하고, 그 평균 입경은 0.5 ㎛∼10 ㎛인 것이 바람직하다.Although the shape of nickel or nickel oxide used as a nickel raw material is not specifically limited, For the ease of supply, it is preferable that it is powder, and it is preferable that the average particle diameter is 0.5 micrometer-10 micrometers.
Moreover, it is preferable to contain 0.1 mass%-2.0 mass% of oxygen in a nickel raw material in this raw material preparation process. When the oxygen content in the nickel raw material is less than 0.1% by mass, the surface stabilizing effect of the micronized nickel in the next step of the micronized step may not be sufficiently exhibited. Moreover, when oxygen content exceeds 2.0 mass%, recombination of oxygen and nickel will arise in a micronization process, and the oxygen content of the nickel fine powder finally obtained may become large too much.
통상적으로, 니켈 분말은 미량의 산소를 함유하고 있어, 니켈 원료로서 산화니켈을 이용하지 않아도 니켈 원료에는 산소가 함유되어 있지만, 니켈 원료중의 산소 함유량을 전술한 범위로 조정해 두는 것이 바람직하다.Usually, nickel powder contains a trace amount of oxygen, and although a nickel raw material contains oxygen even if nickel oxide is not used as a nickel raw material, it is preferable to adjust the oxygen content in a nickel raw material to the above-mentioned range.
If nickel oxide is selected as the nickel source, there is a possibility that nickel oxide may be mixed in the micronization step, which is the next step, and nickel is preferably selected. Nickel may be selected as a main raw material, and in the case where nickel does not contain a predetermined amount of sulfur, any of nickel oxide or sulfur compound containing sulfur or both may be blended. When mix | blending a sulfur compound as a raw material, there exists a possibility that sulfur may be unevenly distributed in the nickel fine powder obtained.
<(2-2) 미분화 공정><(2-2) micronization process>
미분화 공정에서는, 원료 조제 공정에서 얻은 니켈 원료를, 불활성가스와 수소가스를 포함하는 환원 분위기 속에서 열플라즈마에 의해 기화시키고, 발생한 니켈 증기를 응축시켜 미분화시킨다.In the micronization step, the nickel raw material obtained in the raw material preparation step is vaporized by thermal plasma in a reducing atmosphere containing an inert gas and hydrogen gas, and the generated nickel vapor is condensed and micronized.
고주파 플라즈마나 아크 플라즈마와 같은 열플라즈마는, 플라즈마 영역이 10,000℃ 이상의 온도를 갖기 때문에, 그 안에 도입된 니켈 원료는 순간적으로 기화되고, 니켈 증기가 된다. 니켈 원료로서 산화니켈을 이용한 경우도, 기화하는 것에 의해 열플라즈마 속에서 니켈과 산소로 분해되고, 니켈 증기가 된다.In the thermal plasma such as high frequency plasma and arc plasma, since the plasma region has a temperature of 10,000 ° C. or more, the nickel raw material introduced therein is instantaneously vaporized and becomes nickel vapor. In the case where nickel oxide is used as the nickel raw material, it is decomposed into nickel and oxygen in the thermal plasma by vaporization to become nickel vapor.
The generated nickel vapor is micronized by quench condensation. Specifically, since the thermal plasma has a narrower high temperature region compared to the external heating method, the vaporized nickel vapor condenses during the movement to the plasma flame tail portion and rapidly quenches condensation when it exits the plasma region, thus eliminating the need for forced cooling. Undifferentiated In addition, since nickel solidifies from a completely dropletized state, it can be made into finely spherical and very high crystallinity, that is, 66% or more of crystallite diameter with respect to specific surface area diameter.
본 실시형태에 따른 니켈 미분의 제조방법은, 니켈 원료중의 니켈과 유황의 합계에 대하여 유황 함유량이 0.1 질량%∼0.5 질량%가 되도록 배합된 니켈 원료를 이용하기 때문에, 급냉 응축하여 미분화할 때, 생성된 미분화 니켈의 표면에 니켈 황화물 및 니켈 산화물을 포함하는 피복층이 형성된다.The method for producing nickel fine powder according to the present embodiment uses a nickel raw material blended so that the sulfur content is 0.1% by mass to 0.5% by mass relative to the total of nickel and sulfur in the nickel raw material. On the surface of the resulting finely divided nickel, a coating layer containing nickel sulfide and nickel oxide is formed.
The reason why the coating layer is formed is estimated as follows. In other words, nickel sulfide and nickel oxide are governed by the standard free energy in each production. The nickel raw material is evaporated in the plasma, and nickel is first dropleted during the cooling process. Sulfur in the vaporized state forms Ni 3 S 2 on the surface of the nickel droplets in accordance with the standard production free energy (Ni 3 S 2 <H 2 S <S) of the sulfide in subsequent cooling. Because the melting point is the Ni> Ni 3 S 2, when after the solidification of nickel droplets, the liquid phase as the Ni 3 S 2, is believed to form a coating layer which is enriched in undifferentiated nickel surface uniformity.
In addition, in this embodiment, since an inert gas-hydrogen plasma is used, recombination of oxygen and nickel contained in the raw material is suppressed, and a predetermined amount of oxygen contained in nickel combines with hydrogen in the plasma to generate water vapor. A small amount of moisture is adsorbed on the surface of the finely divided nickel having the coating layer thus formed. By this, it is estimated that the fine powder can be obtained which stabilizes a surface, there is little aggregation, and improved dispersibility.
In this micronization process, the micronization method by the thermal plasma currently performed is used. As the thermal plasma, both direct current plasma and high frequency plasma can be used, but it is preferable to use high frequency plasma. For example, in the arc plasma method, which is a direct current plasma, the electrode material (typically tungsten thorium is used) is consumed, which may become impurities and be mixed into the nickel fine powder. Although mixing of impurities can be prevented by devising such as shielding gas such as inert gas, it is not suitable for continuous mass production. On the other hand, according to the high frequency plasma method, since it is an electrodeless, there is no problem of impurity mixing from an electrode material, and it can mass-produce high purity nickel fine powder continuously.
불활성가스로서는, 특별히 한정되는 것이 아니지만, 니켈과 화합물을 생성하지 않는 아르곤을 이용하는 것이 바람직하다.Although it does not specifically limit as an inert gas, It is preferable to use argon which does not produce | generate nickel and a compound.
또한, 니켈 원료의 공급 방법으로서는, 플라즈마 속에 원하는 양을 일정 속도로 공급할 수 있는 것이면 좋다. 예컨대, 원료로서 니켈 분말을 이용한 경우, 반송 가스에 의해 니켈 분말을 플라즈마 속에 공급하면 된다.Moreover, as a supply method of a nickel raw material, what is necessary is just to be able to supply a desired quantity in a plasma at a fixed speed. For example, when nickel powder is used as a raw material, the nickel powder may be supplied into the plasma by a carrier gas.
In this way, in the micronization step, by using a thermal plasma having a narrower high temperature region compared to an external heating method or the like, the vaporized nickel vapor is condensed during the movement to the plasma flame tail portion and forcedly quenched and condensed when exiting the plasma region. The nickel powder is micronized even without phosphorus cooling. However, even if it can be finely divided by quenching and condensing out of the plasma region, since it is fine powder, even if it is below the freezing point of nickel, in the state where temperature is high, micronized nickel will contact easily, and it will sinter easily.
Therefore, it is necessary to cool immediately after the micronization process and to return to the recovery process, and it is preferable to cool while the micronized nickel is dispersed in the gas, that is, before the micronized nickel is introduced into the cyclone used in the next step. Specifically, it is preferable to introduce | transduce into a cyclone after cooling to 120 degrees C or less, Preferably it is 50 degrees C or less by turning in a plasma apparatus.
본 실시형태에 따른 니켈 미분의 제조방법에서는, 이와 같이 하여 사이클론 내에 도입되기 전에 냉각하고, 미분화 니켈이 기체 속에 분산되어 있는 동안에 연속적으로 사이클론 내에 도입되도록 함으로써, 보다 효과적으로, 조대 입자를 제거할 수 있다.In the method for producing nickel fine powder according to the present embodiment, the coarse particles can be more effectively removed by cooling before being introduced into the cyclone and continuously introducing it into the cyclone while the finely divided nickel is dispersed in the gas. .
<(2-3) 조대 입자 제거 공정><(2-3) Coarse Particle Removal Process>
조분(粗粉) 제거 공정에서는, 얻어진 미분화 니켈을 연속적으로 수냉재킷식 사이클론 내에 도입하여 조대 입자를 제거하고 미분화 니켈을 냉각하며, 니켈 미분을 다음 공정인 회수 공정으로 반송한다.In the coarse powder removing step, the obtained micronized nickel is continuously introduced into a water-cooled jacketed cyclone to remove coarse particles, the micronized nickel is cooled, and the nickel fine powder is returned to a recovery step which is the next step.
Here, in the manufacturing method of the nickel fine powder which concerns on this embodiment, the cyclone used for removal of coarse particle | grains is characterized by making a water cooling jacket type. If the cyclone is not water-cooled, agglomeration of the finely divided nickel occurs during turning in the cyclone, and coarse nickel particles are produced. On the other hand, by cooling the cyclone, it becomes possible to cool micronized nickel to suppress aggregation and to separate only coarse nickel particles produced in the micronized process.
또한, 사이클론에 의해 미분화 니켈을 분급하는 과정에서, 미분화 니켈에 함유되는 초미세 입자도 제거된다고 하는 특이한 효과가 생긴다. 초미세 입자도 제거되는 이유의 상세한 내용은 분명하지 않지만, 초미세 입자는 응집하기 쉽다는 특성을 갖고 있어, 사이클론 내에서의 선회에 의해 응집하여 조대한 2차 입자를 형성하고, 제거되는 것으로 추찰된다.In addition, in the process of classifying the finely divided nickel by the cyclone, there is a unique effect that the ultrafine particles contained in the finely divided nickel are also removed. Although the details of the reason why the ultrafine particles are also removed are not clear, the ultrafine particles have a property of being easy to aggregate, and are inferred to be coagulated by turning in a cyclone to form coarse secondary particles and to be removed. do.
사이클론은, 통상의 온도 범위로 수냉되어 있으면 좋지만, 5℃∼50℃, 바람직하게는 5℃∼40℃로 유지되어 있는 것이 바람직하다. 5℃ 미만에서는, 사이클론 내면에 미분화 공정에서 생성된 수증기가 결로하여, 미분화 니켈이 부착될 우려가 있다. 한편, 60℃를 초과하면 응집에 대한 억제 효과가 충분하지 않은 경우가 있다.Although cyclone should just be water-cooled in a normal temperature range, it is preferable that it is maintained at 5 to 50 degreeC, Preferably it is 5 to 40 degreeC. If it is less than 5 DEG C, there is a fear that water vapor generated in the micronization step condenses on the inner surface of the cyclone, and micronized nickel adheres. On the other hand, when it exceeds 60 degreeC, the inhibitory effect on aggregation may not be enough.
In addition, the inlet velocity of the swirling gas in the cyclone is greater than 10 m / sec and 50 m / sec or less, preferably 12 m / sec or more and 50 m / sec or less, 14 m / sec or more, 40 It is more preferable to set it as m / sec or less. Since the classification ability of the coarse particles by the cyclone is obtained in proportion to the inlet velocity of the swirling gas, coarse particles of 0.6 µm or more cannot be sufficiently separated at the inlet velocity of 10 m / sec or less. On the other hand, even if the inlet velocity is larger than 50 m / sec, not only the classifying ability of the coarse particles is improved, but the amount of required turning gas is too large and the cost is increased.
In order to obtain a desired flow rate of the turning gas, a large amount of gas (hundreds of N1 / min to several thousand Nl / min) must be flowed, but it is cost-effective to store and use the gas used in the plasma as a recycle gas in the surge tank. Preferred at In addition, the use of the recycle gas is effective for cooling the finely divided nickel, and it is preferable to supply the recycle gas by injecting a reducing atmosphere or an inert gas into the finely divided nickel produced by rapid quenching condensation outside the plasma region.
또한, 플라즈마 영역으로의 재침입을 방지하고, 조대 입자의 발생을 억제하기 위해, 냉각에 이용하는 가스를 플라즈마 영역 주위에서 선회시키고, 선회류를 형성시켜 냉각하며, 사이클론 내를 경유하여 회수장치에 반송하는 것이 바람직하다.In addition, in order to prevent re-intrusion into the plasma region and to suppress the generation of coarse particles, the gas used for cooling is swirled around the plasma region, a swirl flow is formed and cooled, and conveyed to the recovery apparatus via the cyclone. It is desirable to.
<(2-4) 회수 공정><(2-4) Recovery process>
회수 공정에서는, 조대 입자 제거 공정에 있어서 사이클론 내에서 냉각되어 조대 입자가 제거된 미분화 니켈을 회수한다.In the recovery step, the finely divided nickel is cooled in the cyclone in the coarse particle removal step to remove coarse particles.
이 회수 공정에서 이용되는 회수장치는, 특별히 한정되는 것이 아니라, 통상의 미분 회수에 이용되는 버그필터 등이 이용된다.The recovery device used in this recovery step is not particularly limited, and a bug filter or the like used for ordinary fine powder recovery is used.
<(2-5) 점진적 산화 공정>((2-5) Gradual Oxidation Process)
점진적 산화 공정에서는, 회수한 미분화 니켈을, 산소를 함유하는 약산화성의 불활성가스 분위기 속에서 유지하여 미분화 니켈 표면을 서서히 산화하고, 니켈 미분을 얻는다.In the gradual oxidation process, the recovered finely divided nickel is held in a weakly oxidizing inert gas atmosphere containing oxygen to gradually oxidize the finely divided nickel surface to obtain nickel fine powder.
Active fine powder such as nickel fine powder may cause abnormal heat generation due to rapid oxidation in the air. For this reason, the finely divided nickel recovered in the recovery step is subjected to a gradual oxidation treatment of oxidizing the surface of the finely divided nickel by maintaining it for a certain time in an inert gas atmosphere containing oxygen. By this gradual oxidation treatment, the outermost surface is made of a mixture containing nickel sulfide and nickel oxide on the surface of the nickel fine powder, and a coating layer containing oxygen (atoms) having a thickness of 2 nm to 15 nm is formed.
또한, 대기 분위기에 닿으면, 미분화 니켈은 이상(異常) 발열할 우려가 있기 때문에, 밀폐 상태로 회수 공정으로부터 점진적 산화 공정으로 옮기는 것이 바람직하다.In addition, since it may generate abnormal heat | fever when it contacts an atmospheric atmosphere, it is preferable to transfer to a gradual oxidation process from a collection process in a sealed state.
As a weakly oxidizing inert gas atmosphere containing oxygen, a gas containing 1% by volume to 5% by volume of oxygen and argon is preferable, and a gas containing 1% by volume to 3% by volume of oxygen and argon is more preferable. If oxygen is less than 1% by volume, the surface coating layer may not be sufficiently formed, and the resulting nickel fine powder may cause abnormal heat generation due to rapid oxidation in the air. Moreover, when oxygen exceeds 5 volume%, exotherm or oxidation may advance to the inside, and the thickness of a coating layer may exceed 15 nm.
It is preferable to set it as 100 degrees C or less, and, as for the temperature which performs a gradual oxidation process, it is more preferable to set it as 50 degrees C or less. Incidentally, the gradual oxidation treatment may not be an atmosphere that is forcibly cooled, and a general range of room temperature, for example, 0 ° C to 40 ° C is sufficient. By carrying out the progressive oxidation process at 100 degrees C or less, the nickel fine powder which has the above-mentioned coating layer can be obtained. On the other hand, if the temperature is kept above 100 ° C. and maintained in an oxygen-containing inert gas atmosphere, oxidation proceeds rapidly, the oxidation proceeds to the inside, and the thickness of the coating layer exceeds 15 nm. There is a case where the nickel oxide present in the film is greatly increased and the effect of slowing the progress of sintering may not be obtained. Details of the cause of the increase in nickel oxide are not clear, but nickel diffuses from the inside to the surface and combines with oxygen to form oxides, or high heat generation due to oxidation of nickel sulfide, and decomposes nickel sulfate generated by high temperature. Is considered to be by.
이 점진적 산화 처리의 시간은, 전술한 불활성가스 분위기 및 온도에서 충분히 피복층이 형성되는 시간으로 하면 좋지만, 2∼24시간으로 하는 것이 바람직하다. 2시간 미만에서는 충분히 피복층이 형성되지 않는 경우가 있다. 또한, 24시간을 초과하여 처리하여도, 효과없이 비용만 증가할 뿐이다.Although the time of this gradual oxidation process should just be time to fully form a coating layer in the above-mentioned inert gas atmosphere and temperature, it is preferable to set it as 2 to 24 hours. If it is less than 2 hours, a coating layer may not fully be formed. Moreover, even if it processes more than 24 hours, only the cost will increase without effect.
또한, 수세하고 건조시키는 것에 의해 점진적 산화 처리를 행하여도 좋다. 수세는, 불순물의 혼입을 방지하기 위해 순수 등을 이용하여 통상의 방법으로 행하면 좋고, 그 후에 건조시킨다. 또한, 과도한 산화를 방지하기 위해, 건조는 진공중 120℃ 이하에서 행하는 것이 바람직하다.Furthermore, you may perform a gradual oxidation process by washing with water and drying. In order to prevent mixing of impurities, washing with water may be performed by a normal method using pure water or the like, and then dried. Moreover, in order to prevent excessive oxidation, it is preferable to perform drying at 120 degrees C or less in vacuum.
이와 같이 하여 점진적 산화 처리를 거쳐, 표면에 피복층이 형성된 니켈 미분은, 피복층에 의해 표면이 안정되어 있기 때문에 발화의 우려가 없고, 취급이 매우 용이한 것이다.In this way, the nickel fine powder in which the coating layer is formed on the surface through gradual oxidation treatment has no fear of ignition because the surface is stabilized by the coating layer, and handling is very easy.
이상, 상세히 설명한 바와 같이, 본 실시형태에 따른 니켈 미분의 제조방법에 의하면, 차세대의 적층 세라믹 콘덴서용 내부 전극 재료로 이용될 것으로 예상되는 0.2 ㎛ 이하의 니켈 미분을, 간이하고 저비용으로 얻을 수 있다.As described above, as described in detail, according to the method for producing nickel fine powder according to the present embodiment, nickel fine powder of 0.2 μm or less, which is expected to be used as an internal electrode material for a next-generation multilayer ceramic capacitor, can be obtained simply and at low cost. .
The prepared nickel fine powder has a proportion of 0.6 μm or more coarse particles contained in the nickel fine powder at 50 ppm or less, and as a preferred embodiment, the difference between the specific surface area diameter and the number average particle diameter is relative to the specific surface area diameter. It is 15% or less, and a crystalline diameter is 66% or more with respect to the said number average particle diameter. As described above, since the particles are fine and contain very few coarse particles and have a true spherical shape and high crystallinity, when used as an internal electrode material for a multilayer ceramic capacitor, shrinkage occurs uniformly during firing, and cracks are generated. It can prevent.
또한, 이 니켈 미분은, 유기물, 분산제 등에 의해 표면이 피복되어 있지 않기 때문에, 페이스트 등의 제작이 용이하고, 적층 세라믹 콘덴서용 내부 전극 재료로서 적합하다.In addition, since the surface of the nickel fine powder is not covered with an organic substance, a dispersing agent, or the like, preparation of a paste or the like is easy and suitable as an internal electrode material for a multilayer ceramic capacitor.
<3. 실시예><3. Example>

[실시예 1]Example 1
플라즈마 입력 약 105 kW로 고주파 플라즈마를 점화하고, 아르곤의 총량 185 L/분, 수소 18 L/분, 분위기 압력 50 kPa로 조정하여, 안정된 플라즈마 불꽃을 얻었다. 반송가스(아르곤 24 L/분)에 의해, 플라즈마 불꽃의 내부에 니켈 원료를 2.3 ㎏/hr으로 공급하여 미분화 니켈을 얻었다.A high-frequency plasma was ignited at a plasma input of about 105 kW, and adjusted to a total amount of argon of 185 L / min, hydrogen 18 L / min, and atmospheric pressure of 50 kPa to obtain a stable plasma flame. By the carrier gas (argon 24 L / min), nickel raw material was supplied at 2.3 kg / hr into the inside of a plasma flame, and micronized nickel was obtained.
4 kg of nickel powder (manufactured by Inco Special Products and Inco Limited, Nickel, Type255, average particle diameter: 2.2 µm to 2.8 µm) was added to 16 L of pure water, 60 g of sodium hydrogen sulfide n hydrate was added, followed by stirring for 30 minutes. Thereafter, the resultant was repulsed once, filtered and vacuum dried (36 hours), pulverized to obtain a nickel raw material. The sulfur content in the nickel raw material was about 0.2 mass%, and the oxygen content was about 0.4 mass%.
Since the temperature of this plasma flame is 10,000 degreeC or more, the nickel raw material powder evaporated and vaporized instantaneously, it condensed in the plasma flame tail part which temperature becomes low, and was micronized, and micronized nickel was obtained. The obtained finely divided nickel was continuously introduced into the cyclone and classified by turning with a recycle gas (hereinafter, referred to as "swing gas") flowing in the cyclone. At this time, the swirling gas was flowed at 2600 NL / min, and the cyclone inlet velocity was 36 m / sec. The inside of the water-cooled jacketed cyclone was cooled in a range of 5 ° C to 35 ° C.
얻어진 미분화 니켈을, 대기 분위기에 폭로하지 않고서 회수장치에 반송하며 회수장치 내에서, 아르곤-10 용량% 공기(약 2 용량% 산소) 분위기 속에서 약 10시간 유지하는 점진적 산화 처리를 행한 후, 장치로부터 회수하였다.The obtained undifferentiated nickel is returned to the recovery apparatus without being exposed to the atmosphere, and then subjected to a gradual oxidation treatment in which the retention apparatus is maintained for about 10 hours in an argon-10% by volume air (about 2% by volume oxygen) atmosphere. Recovered from
It was 62 nm when 500 micrometers of particle diameters were obtained for the obtained nickel fine powder from the 30,000-fold field of view of FE-SEM, and the number average diameter was calculated | required. In addition, the BET diameter was 64 nm, and their difference was 3%, which was very true. The nickel powder was analyzed by XRD, and the crystallite diameter was calculated by the Scherrer method. As a result, the crystallite size was 483 angstroms. .
Evaluation of the coarse particle mixing amount was carried out by ultrasonic homogenizer (manufactured by Nippon Seiki Co., Ltd., US-300T) after collecting about 0.1 g of nickel fine powder and adding about 40 ml of isopropyl alcohol (IPA) as a dispersion medium. And dispersion for 2 minutes at an output of 300 μA to prepare a sample solution. After leaving the sample solution for about 10 minutes, about 35 ml of the surface was removed, and the precipitated fine powder slurry was applied and dried on the SEM sample stage to observe the SEM.
1만배의 80시야(약 108만개)에서, 0.6 ㎛ 이상의 조대 입자가 7개였기 때문에, 그 혼입량은 6 ppm이었다.In 10,000 times 80 fields of view (about 1080,000 pieces), since there were seven coarse particles of 0.6 µm or more, the amount of inclusion was 6 ppm.
또한, 얻어진 니켈 미분의 유황 함유량은 0.30 질량%이고, 산소 함유량은 1.9 질량%였다.Moreover, sulfur content of the obtained nickel fine powder was 0.30 mass%, and oxygen content was 1.9 mass%.
[실시예 2][Example 2]
선회 가스를 2000 NL/분으로 유동시키고, 사이클론 입구 속도를 28 m/sec로 한 것 이외는 실시예 1과 마찬가지로 하여 니켈 미분을 얻고 평가하였다.A nickel fine powder was obtained and evaluated in the same manner as in Example 1 except that the swirling gas was flowed at 2000 NL / min and the cyclone inlet velocity was 28 m / sec.
It was 72 nm when the obtained nickel fine powder measured particle diameters 500 pieces randomly from the 30,000-times field of view of FE-SEM, and calculated | required the number average diameter. In Examples 1 to 4 obtained by the present invention, the true structure having a low difference between the specific surface area diameter and the number average particle diameter of 15% or less is good, and the crystallite size is 66% or more with respect to the number average particle diameter. Since the coarse particle | grains of 0.6 micrometers or more are 50 ppm or less of the total particle number, it turns out that there is high potential as nickel fine powder for electrode materials of next-generation MLCC.
한편, 비교예 1, 2에서는, 0.6 ㎛ 이상의 조대 입자가 전체 입자 개수의 50 ppm 이상이기 때문에, 현재 사용되고 있는 니켈 분말과 동등한 정도였다.On the other hand, in Comparative Examples 1 and 2, since the coarse particles of 0.6 µm or more were 50 ppm or more of the total number of particles, they were about the same as nickel powders currently used.
