Claims (15)
- 비트수 n의 디지털 데이터로 나타낸 화상 신호를 상기 비트수 n에 의해 정해지는 계조수로 다계조 표시하는 화상 표시 장치에 있어서,임의의 선택 기간에 기입된 신호를 상기 선택 기간 이외에도 유지하여 그 표시 상태를 유지하는 표시 소자를 화소로서 매트릭스형으로 배열함으로써 구성한 표시 패널과, 상기 표시 패널을 구성하는 매트릭스형 표시 소자를 행마다 순차 선택 주사하는 수직 드라이브 회로와, 수직 드라이브 회로에 의해 선택된 행의 표시 소자에 대하여, 표시해야 할 화상 신호의 디지털 데이터에 따라 사전에 할당된 2치의 전압 중에서 전압을 기입하는 수평 드라이브 회로와, 상기 수평, 수직 드라이브 회로를 포함하고, 표시해야 할 상기 화상 신호에 동기하여 1 프레임 기간에 있어서 적어도 n회 각 표시 화소를 선택 주사시킴으로써 다계조 표시하는 화상 표시 장치에 있어서,상기 수직 드라이브 회로는 적어도 비트수 n 이상의 순서 회로와 그 출력의 논리 연산 회로를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
- 비트수 n의 디지털 데이터로 나타낸 화상 신호를 상기 비트수 n에 의해 정해지는 계조수로 다계조 표시하는 화상 표시 장치에 있어서,임의의 선택 기간에 기입된 신호를 그 선택 기간 이외에도 유지하여 그 표시 상태를 유지하는 표시 소자를 화소로서 매트릭스형으로 배열함으로써 구성한 표시패널과, 상기 표시 패널을 구성하는 매트릭스형 표시 소자를 행마다 순차 선택 주사하는 수직 드라이브 회로와, 수직 드라이브 회로에 의해 선택된 행의 표시 소자에 대하여, 표시해야 할 화상 신호의 디지털 데이터에 따라 사전에 할당된 2치의 전압 중에서 전압을 기입하는 수평 드라이브 회로와, 상기 수평, 수직 드라이브 회로를 포함하고, 표시해야 할 상기 화상 신호에 동기하여, 1 프레임 기간에 있어서 적어도 n회 각 표시 화소를 선택 주사시킴으로써 다계조 표시하는 화상 표시 장치에 있어서,상기 수평 드라이브 회로는 적어도 비트수 n 이상의 라인 데이터 래치 회로를 구비하고, 상기 데이터 래치 회로의 비트마다의 출력과 수평 주사 기간을 분할하는 제어 신호와의 곱으로 이루어진 논리 신호를 순차 더한 결과에 따라 상기 액티브 매트릭스 표시 소자의 구동 전압을 출력하는 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 수직 드라이브 회로는 비트마다 순서 회로와 그 출력의 논리 연산 결과와 수평 주사 기간을 분할하는 제어 신호와의 곱으로 이루어진 논리 신호를 순차 더한 결과에 따라, 상기 액티브 매트릭스의 수직 주사선에 가하는 전압을 규정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
- 제2항에 있어서,상기 수직 드라이브 회로는 비트마다 순서 회로와 그 출력의 논리 연산 결과와 수평 주사 기간을 분할하는 제어 신호와의 곱으로 이루어진 논리 신호를 순차 더한 결과에 따라, 상기 액티브 매트릭스의 수직 주사선에 가하는 전압을 규정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 표시 소자는 액티브 매트릭스의 수직 주사선에 게이트를 수평 주사선에 드레인을 접속한 제1 박막 트랜지스터와, 상기 제1 박막 트랜지스터의 소스에는 제2 박막 트랜지스터의 게이트와 축적 용량의 전극이 접속되고, 상기 제2 박막 트랜지스터에는 유기 LED가 접속되어, 화상 신호가 상기 축적 용량에 유지되는 기간은 상기 유기 LED에 전류가 계속 흐름으로써 표시 상태가 유지되는 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
- 제2항에 있어서,상기 표시 소자는 액티브 매트릭스의 수직 주사선에 게이트를, 수평 주사선에 드레인을 접속한 제1 박막 트랜지스터와, 상기 제1 박막 트랜지스터의 소스에는 제2 박막 트랜지스터의 게이트와 축적 용량의 전극이 접속되고, 상기 제2 박막 트랜지스터에는 유기 LED가 접속되고, 화상 신호가 상기 축적 용량에 유지되는 기간은 상기 유기 LED에 전류가 계속 흐름으로써 표시 상태가 유지되는 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
- 제3항에 있어서,상기 표시 소자는 액티브 매트릭스의 수직 주사선에 게이트를, 수평 주사선에 드레인을 접속한 제1 박막 트랜지스터와, 상기 제1 박막 트랜지스터의 소스에는 제2 박막 트랜지스터의 게이트와 축적 용량의 전극이 접속되고, 상기 제2 박막 트랜지스터에는 유기 LED가 접속되고, 화상 신호가 상기 축적 용량에 유지되는 기간은 상기 유기 LED에 전류가 계속 흐름으로써 표시 상태가 유지되는 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.

- 제5항에 있어서,상기 수직 드라이브 회로 및 수평 드라이브 회로는 액티브 매트릭스 기판 상에 박막 트랜지스터에 의해 구성되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
- 기판 상에 표시부 및 구동 회로부를 형성한 화상 표시 장치에 있어서,상기 화상 표시 장치는 비트수 n의 디지털 데이터의 화상 신호를 비트수 n에 의해 정해지는 계조수로 다계조 표시하는 것이고,상기 구동 회로부는 적어도 비트수 n 이상의 개수의 순서 회로와, 상기 순서 회로 각각의 출력측에 접속된 논리 연산부를 갖는 화상 표시 장치.
- 제12항에 있어서,상기 구동 회로부는 수직 드라이브 회로를 구비하고 있고, 상기 수직 드라이브 회로는 적어도 비트수 n 이상의 개수의 순서 회로와, 상기 순서 회로 각각의 출력측에 접속된 논리 연산을 구비하고 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
- 기판 상에 표시부 및 구동 회로부를 형성한 화상 표시 장치에 있어서,상기 화상 표시 장치는 비트수 n의 디지털 데이터의 화상 신호를 비트수 n에 의해 정해지는 계조수로 다계조 표시하는 것이고,상기 구동 회로부는 적어도 비트수 n 이상의 라인 데이터 래치 회로를 구비하고, 상기 라인 데이터 래치 회로의 비트마다의 출력과 수평 주사 기간을 분할하는 제어 신호와의 곱을 갖는 논리 신호를 순차 상기 라인 데이터 래치 회로의 비트마다의 출력과 수평 주사 기간을 분할하는 제어 신호에 따른 신호를 순차 더한 결과에 따라서 상기 표시부를 제어하는 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
- 제14항에 있어서,상기 구동 회로부는 수평 드라이브 회로를 구비하고 있고, 상기 수평 드라이브 회로는 적어도 비트수 n 이상의 라인 데이터 래치 회로를 구비하고, 상기 라인 데이터 래치 회로의 비트마다의 출력과 수평 주사 기간을 분할하는 제어 신호와의 곱을 갖는 논리 신호를 순차 상기 라인 데이터 래치 회로의 비트마다의 출력과 수평 주사 기간을 분할하는 제어 신호에 따른 신호를 순차 더한 결과에 따라 상기 표시부를 제어하는 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
