Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明は、内燃機関用消音器の筒体に関する。
〔従来の技術〕
消音器の筒体は、排気ガスからの凝縮水・排気
ガス浄化用触媒との化学反応等により内部腐食を
生ずる。また一方仕向け地域によつては塩害・湿
害による外部腐食もある。
そこで自動車の排気マフラ円筒形本体を、アル
ミニウムめつき鋼板とステンレス鋼板とのロール
加工により同時成形し、複層構造としたマフラ構
造が知られている(特開昭57−83622号公報参
照)。
〔発明が解決しようとする問題点〕
ところがその公知のものは、異なる材質の素材
板を重ね合せてロール加工により同時成形するも
のであるから、少なくとも1周分2枚の板を巻き
つけるため、強い押圧力を必要とし、ロール機の
剛性を考慮する必要がある。その他重ね合せた素
材板がずれないように位置決めする手数を要する
等の欠点がある。
本発明は、上記の欠点を除き能率的に生産する
ことのできる内燃機関用消音器の多重筒体を提供
することを目的とする。
ロ 発明の構成 〔問題点を解決するための手段〕 本発明は、異質の素材板を延長した状態に一端
同志をかしめ接続により連結し、巻型を用いてそ
の一方の素材板の自由端から筒体に成形し、その
素材板の1周以上の位置に上記接続部が重なり合
つた後、他方の素材板が先に巻かれた素材板の筒
面の上に巻かれ、その後から巻かれた素材板の自
由端が前記接続部を越えて1周以上重なり合つた
位置で溶着したことを特徴とする内燃機関用消音
器の筒体である。
〔作用〕
耐内部摩食材・耐外部摩食材の選択組合せが容
易にできる。異質素材板をその一端同志をかしめ
接続して連結することによりガス洩れしない高シ
ール性の筒体が得られる。従来の1枚板のロール
成形と同要領で生産される。
〔実施例〕
例えば燃焼ガスやその凝縮水等に強いステンレ
ス鋼板と、塩害に強い加工例えばアルミニウムめ
つきまた亜鉛めつきをした鋼板のように異なる素
材板1・2を、第1図のようにそれ等の各一端を
U形に折曲げ互いに掛合させ加圧してかしめ接続
した異質素材板1・2の連結延長板1・2を形成
する。
上記の素材板1・2のような異質材は溶接が離
しく、点溶接ではガス洩れを生じ、全面溶接は高
価であるが、上記のかしめ溶接は簡単安価で十分
なシール性が得られる。
その素材板1・2の一方例えば1で内筒1aを
構成する場合は、その素材板1の自由端11をロ
ール巻型4に例えばその係合溝5で咬えさせ、巻
型4を矢Lの方向に回転させて押えロールを用い
て素材板1を巻きつける。
素材板1が1周しさらに或長さl1だけラツプ
するように予め材料取りをしておくことによつ
て、内周全面がその素材板1で形成される。引続
く巻型4の回転で他の素材板2が素材板1の周面
の上に巻かれる。
その素材板2の自由端側が接続部3を越えて、
さらに長さl2だけラツプした状態で、素材板2
を溶着して筒体成形工程を終了し、型抜きする。
そのラツプ部l2は同じ材料同志であるから、容
易に溶接される。
他の実施例としては、第4図のように後から巻
く素材板2の内面に吸音材6を添わせて巻くこと
によつて、内外の筒面1a・2a間に吸音材層6
を形成することができる。
なおかしめ接続部3の円周方向長さを例えば約
10mmとした場合、各素材板相互の重なり長さl
1・l2は夫々約15〜20mmとする。
第5図・第6図は、例えばステンレス板のよう
な耐食材料131・132を内側と外側とし、その
間に例えばSPCC(普通鋼板)12を挟んだ三層
構成の実施例である。なおかしめ部は外側に凸状
311・内側に凸状312の何れでもよい。
この構成によりステンレス鋼板のような高価な
材料131・132はその板厚も含めて最小限の利
用にとどめ、それによる透過音等の問題は安価な
鋼板12を利用して解消することができる。
ロール成形を行うには公知の心金と押えロール
によることができるが、製品筒体の径に応じて心
金を交換しなければならないから、設備費が高価
となる。
従つてウレタンフオーム式と呼ばれる鉄マンド
レルとウレタンロールとの間に素材板を挾み、ウ
レタンロールをマンドレルに強く押し当てること
により筒体を形成し、抜き取つた後、巻き締めて
スポツト溶接する等の手段で固定する。
この方法によれば、マンドレルとウレタンロー
ルの押し当て圧力を変え、またはマンドレルにカ
ラーをかぶせることによつて、所望の径の円筒体
を容易に成形することが可能で設備費が軽減され
る。
ハ 発明の効果 上記のように、耐内部耐食性・耐外部耐食性の
所望の筒体が容易に得られる。ガス洩れに対する
シール性に優れた多重筒体が構成される。1枚板
のロール成形と殆ど同じ加工要領で異質素材板の
多重筒体が得られる。

の巻き込み要領の説明図、第4図は内外筒間に吸
音材を挾んだ実施例の横断面図、第5図は三層筒

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 1 異質の素材板を延長した状態に一端同志をか
    しめ接続により連結し、 巻型を用いてその一方の素材板の自由端から筒
    体に成形し、 その素材板の1周以上の位置に上記接続部が重
    なり合つた後、他方の素材板が先に巻かれた素材
    板の筒面の上に巻かれ、 その後から巻かれた素材板の自由端が前記接続
    部を越えて1周以上重なり合つた位置で溶着した
    ことを特徴とする内燃機関用消音器の筒体。
