Description
(1) 燃焼を実行する気筒数、及び
(2) 各気筒内で動作するバルブ数
それゆえに、単純に気筒数を用いることにより得られるものよりも、トルク発生能力の分解能を高めることが可能である。
ラムダ(λ)= (Air/Fuel) / (Air/Fuel)stoichiometry
これは、固定のバルブ・タイミングに基くエンジン空気量推定値に燃料を合致させることにより始動される通常のエンジンとは対照的である。バルブ・タイミングと点火進角が、所望のトルクとエンジン空気量を発生するように、調整される。クランキング及び/又は始動中のトルクと空気量要求を満たすように、バルブ・タイミング及び/又はリフトを調整することにより、海抜にかかわらず、始動のたびにエンジンをアイドル速度まで一様に加速することが出来る。図17及び18は、海面と高度があるときでのエンジン始動を一様にするためのバルブ・タイミングの例を示す。
そして、ルーチンは、終了する。
更に、最初の燃焼のために選択される気筒は、ピストン位置と運動方向とに基くことも出来る。そのとき、最初の気筒の吸気バルブ・タイミングは、要求トルクを発生するように調整され得る。しかしながら、DIにおいて燃料噴射はバルブ・タイミングにより制約されない。それから、吸気行程の下死点の前又は後で吸気弁を開放するようにバルブ・タイミングを調整することにより、要求エンジン空気量を得ることが出来る。
mp(k) = {τ / (τ+ T)} ・mp(k-1)
ここで、mpは燃料溜りの質量であり、kは気筒イベント番号、τは時間定数、そしてTはサンプリング・タイムである。続く燃料溜り質量は、以下の式から判定される。
Δmp = mp(k) ・ mp(k-1) = mp (k-1) ・{-T / (τ+ T)}
ここでΔmpは、気筒へ入る燃料溜りの質量である。所定の溜り質量又はルックアップ・テーブルから求められる溜り質量を、気筒へ入る燃料溜りの質量の代わりとすることも出来る。
ルーチンは、そして終了する。
ルーチンがこのロジックを実行する度に、変数Rcl_degがインクリメントされる。この変数は、所定回数の試行が実行されたならば、ルーチンが軌跡外のバルブとそれが存在する気筒を休止するのを可能とする(ステップ3918及び3930)。ルーチンは、その変数をインクリメントした後で、終了する。
CL_cur_set = Vt_adjust * (CL_base_set + CL_adjust)
ここで、CL_cur_setはそのエンジン運転状態における電流ベクトルであり、vt_adjustはエンジン又はバルブの温度の関数であり、CL_base_setはベース電流量を持つベクトルであり、CL_adjustはそのエンジン運転状態における電流調整値のベクトルである。電流調整に続いて、ルーチンは終了する。
それから、ルーチンは終了する。

Claims (4)
- 複数の気筒と該各気筒に設けられた吸排気用の電気作動式バルブとを備えたエンジンの始動方法であって、
上記エンジンの始動要求があった場合に、上記エンジンのクランク角に基づいて、該エンジン始動直後に所定のエンジン出力を発生させるピストン下降運動を最初に実行可能な気筒を特定する工程と、
上記特定した気筒のうち、上記エンジンのフライホイールに最も近い側の気筒が吸気行程となるように、少なくとも一つの電気作動式バルブの開閉タイミングを設定する工程と、
を有する、エンジンの始動方法。 - 上記エンジン出力がエンジン・トルクである、請求項1記載のエンジンの始動方法。
- 上記エンジン出力が気筒空気量である、請求項1又は2記載のエンジンの始動方法。
- 上記エンジン出力がエンジン回転速度である、請求項1乃至3のいずれか一項に記載のエンジンの始動方法。
