Description
図1を参照すると、1は機関本体、2は各気筒の燃焼室、3は各燃焼室2内に夫々燃料を噴射するための電子制御式燃料噴射弁、4は吸気マニホルド、5は排気マニホルドを夫々示す。吸気マニホルド4は吸気ダクト6を介して排気ターボチャージャ7のコンプレッサ7aの出口に連結され、コンプレッサ7aの入口は吸入空気量検出器8を介してエアクリーナ9に連結される。吸気ダクト6内にはステップモータにより駆動されるスロットル弁10が配置され、更に吸気ダクト6周りには吸気ダクト6内を流れる吸入空気を冷却するための冷却装置11が配置される。図1に示される実施例では機関冷却水が冷却装置11内に導かれ、機関冷却水によって吸入空気が冷却される。
図3を参照するとまず初めにステップ50においてNOxセンサ39の出力値からNOx浄化率が一定レベル以下に低下したか否か、即ちNOx浄化率が異常であるか否かが判別される。NOx浄化率が異常でないときには処理サイクルを完了する。このときにはNOx選択還元触媒15、尿素水供給系および尿素水の全てが正常であると判断される。
図5を参照するとまず初めにステップ80において尿素水タンク20内の尿素量の初期値を検出したか否かが判別される。初期値が検出されていないときにはステップ81に進んで図2に示されるレベルセンサ43により尿素水タンク20内の尿素水量W1が検出される。初期値の検出が完了するとステップ82に進み、機関の運転状態に応じて定められている尿素水の供給量Qの積算値ΣQが算出される。

Claims (5)
- 機関排気通路内にNOx選択還元触媒を配置し、該NOx選択還元触媒上流の機関排気通路内に尿素水供給弁を配置し、尿素水供給弁からの供給尿素水から発生するアンモニアにより排気ガス中に含まれるNOxを選択的に還元するようにした内燃機関の排気浄化装置において、NOx選択還元触媒によるNOx浄化率を検出するNOx浄化率検出手段と、尿素水の供給量を検出する尿素水供給量検出手段と、尿素水の濃度を検出する尿素水濃度検出手段を具備しており、これらNOx浄化率検出手段、尿素水供給量検出手段および尿素水濃度検出手段による検出結果に基づいてNOx選択還元触媒、尿素水供給系および尿素水の異常を判定するようにした内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- まず初めにNOx浄化率が異常であるか否かが判定され、NOx浄化率が異常であると判定されたときに尿素水供給系および尿素水が異常であるか否かが判定される請求項1に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- NOx浄化率が異常であると判定されたときに尿素水供給系および尿素水は異常でないと判定されたときにはNOx選択還元触媒が異常であると判定される請求項2に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- NOx浄化率が異常であると判定されたときに尿素水供給系も異常であると判定されたときには尿素水供給量が正常な供給量となるように尿素水供給量を増大又は減少させ、このときNOx浄化率が異常でなくなった場合には尿素水供給系に異常があると判定される請求項2に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- NOx浄化率が異常であると判定されたときに尿素水も異常であると判定されたときには尿素の供給量が正常な供給量となるように尿素水供給量を増大又は減少させ、このときNOx浄化率が異常でなくなった場合には尿素水に異常があると判定される請求項2に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
