Abstract
Description

Claims (6)
- ハニカムセラミック物品を製造するプロセスにおいて、
焼成サイクルが施されたときに、コージエライト、ムライト、チタン酸アルミニウム、炭化ケイ素、またはアルミナの内の少なくとも1つを生成する無機セラミック形成材料および上乗せ添加により約20質量パーセント超を構成する有機細孔形成剤を含む未焼成ハニカム体を提供する工程、および
前記未焼成体を、蒸気が窯の雰囲気に約10体積%から約100体積%の量で加えられる窯内で焼成サイクルに施す工程、
を有してなるプロセス。 - 前記窯の雰囲気への蒸気の添加が、少なくとも、約1000℃未満の前記焼成サイクルの一部分の最中に行われる、請求項1記載のプロセス。
- 前記窯の雰囲気への蒸気の添加が、前記焼成サイクルの最高均熱期間の最中に行われる、請求項2記載のプロセス。
- 前記窯の温度が、室温から少なくとも約800℃まで、約50℃/時から約100℃/時の速度で上昇させられる、請求項1記載のプロセス。
- 前記窯の温度が、約50℃/時超の速度で前記焼成サイクル中に最高均熱温度から減少させられる、請求項3記載のプロセス。
- 前記焼成サイクルが、約100時間未満の長さである、請求項1記載のプロセス。
