Abstract
【解決手段】 液晶表示装置の複数の信号配線を複数N個のスイッチング配線SW1〜SW3と複数P個の駆動配線L1〜L4とから構成し、前記駆動配線L1〜L4のそれぞれについて、P個のスイッチング素子tr1〜tr4を介して前記複数の信号入力端子のうちのP個(例えばta1〜ta4)に接続し、前記N個のスイッチング配線SW1〜SW3をそれぞれ異なる駆動配線L1〜L4に接続されているP個のスイッチング素子の入力端子(ゲート電極)に接続し、図示しない外部の制御回路からの信号により駆動回路を介して前記スイッチング素子を制御するとともに前記P個の駆動配線に駆動信号を供給するようにする。

Claims (5)
- 一方基板と該一方基板よりも小さい他方基板とを重ね合わせ、2つの基板が重なり合う部分に液晶層を介在させて表示部が形成された液晶表示パネルと、
前記表示部の周囲に形成された走査信号又は映像信号が入力される複数の信号入力端子と、
を備えた液晶表示パネルにおいて、
前記一方基板上に、外部からの制御信号を処理して前記液晶表示パネルを駆動するための駆動信号及びスイッチング信号を生成する駆動回路、及び前記駆動回路からの駆動信号及びスイッチング信号がそれぞれ送出される複数の駆動配線及び複数のスイッチング配線を設け、
前記複数の駆動配線及び複数のスイッチング配線の数の和は前記複数の信号入力端子の数よりも小さくし、
前記複数の信号入力端子のそれぞれをスイッチング素子を介して前記複数の駆動配線に接続し、
前記複数の駆動配線を前記スイッチング素子により前記スイッチング信号に同期して時分割に前記複数の信号入力端子に切換接続するようにしたことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記複数の駆動配線の数をP個とし、前記複数のスイッチング配線の数をN個としたとき、
前記複数の信号入力端子のそれぞれをP個毎にスイッチング素子を介してそれぞれ異なる駆動配線に接続し、
N個の前記スイッチング配線のそれぞれをそれぞれ異なる駆動配線に接続されているP個のスイッチング素子の入力端子に接続し、
前記駆動回路から前記N個のスイッチング配線を介して前記スイッチング素子を制御するとともに前記P個の駆動配線に駆動信号を供給することにより、前記複数の信号入力端子に時分割に駆動信号を供給するようにしたことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記P個毎にスイッチング素子を介してそれぞれ異なる駆動配線に接続されている前記複数の信号入力端子は、互いに隣接していることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記スイッチング素子が薄膜トランジスタであることを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記複数の信号入力端子数をMとしたとき、前記NとPがM/N≦Pとなるように選択されていることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置。
