Abstract

941,430. Ammunition rockets. J. N. STEBBING. Feb. 5, 1953 [Feb. 20, 1952], No. 3255/53. Heading F3A. In an armour-piercing type rocket an auxiliary grenade containing phosphorous or shrapnel is carried within the rocket and fired through the apertures made by the rocket. The rocket 10 consists of a collapsible nose 14, a body member 11 containing a cone-shaped, rapidly-burning, gas-producing charge 12, a body member 15 containing the charge detonating assembly 16 and the rocket fuel firing element 19, and a rocket chamber 18 adjoining nozzle 21. The cylinder 25, mounted along the axis of cone-shaped charge 12, containing the required filling, proceeds through the hole in the target produced by 12.
