Abstract

1,162,158. Caseless rounds. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ARMY, SECRETARY OF. 21 Sept., 1966 [21 Sept., 1965], No. 42083/66. Heading F3A. Caseless round comprising granules of propellant bonded together in a moulded mass 10, a projectile 12, a plug of propellant 22 incorporating a priming charge (such as described in Specification 1,150,204) and a propellant charge 20 which incorporates a priming mix 28 and is caused to travel along an axial cavity 18 towards the projectile, when ignited by the plug 22, so as to facilitate breakup and ignition of the main mass 10.
