Abstract

1,039,688. Ammunition cartridges. RHEINMETALL G.m.b.H. June 7,1963 [June 20, 1962], No. 22878/63. Heading F3A. An extension piece 2 of combustible material, which may be plastics, has an annular shoulder 3 which determines its position in the mouth of cartridge case 1. A projectile 4 is received by the forward end of the extension piece 2 to an extent determined by a shoulder is, such as a driving band, formed on the projectile. A transverse partition 6 may be provided which strengthens the extension piece and which on firing aids the destruction and combustion of the piece.
