Abstract

1,070,836. Blank cartridges. RHEINMETALL G.m.b.H. Oct. 26, 1964 [Oct. 26, 1963], No. 43614/64. Heading F3A. A blank cartridge comprises a propellant charge 4 and a tamping plug 3. The plug 3 is of a similar cross-section to the chamber 2 in the barrel 1 and the charge 4 is smaller so that a combustion chamber 8 is formed. The charge 4 and plug 3 are each arranged in a bag 9<SP>1</SP>, 9 respectively, and the two are secured together by cement. The charge 4 incorporates a primer 5 which is ignited by a detonator 7. The members 3 and 4 may be in a single bag.
