875,080. Agitating appliances. UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY. May 21, 1959 [June 23, 1958], No. 20111/58. Class 86 [Also in Groups XXVI and XL(a)] A stirrer for radioactive liquid in a glove box or fume-hood 7 is driven by a turbine 1 having a casing 2 provided with a compressed air inlet pipe 3 and an outlet pipe 4, the pipes 3, 4 being connected to rubber pipes 5, 6 which lead to the exterior of the box 7. The turbine has drive vanes 9 which rotate a shaft 8 mounted in P.T.F.E. beaings 10, 11, the lower end of the shaft carrying mixing paddles (not shown). The casing 2, shaft 8 and vanes 9 are of glass.
