Abstract

1,185,646. Waste-disposal apparatus. ECONA-PARKAMATIC Ltd. 17 May, 1967 [24 May, 1966], No. 23001/66. Heading B2A. The casing of a waste-disposal unit is in two parts 10, 11, Fig. 1; secured by quick-release fastenings 54, 55, with a sealing gasket 22 between the parts, the motor 35 and impeller 44 being carried by the lower part 11. When the motor 35 and impeller 44 are removed for servicing, the upper part 10 is closed off by a plate 64 so that the sink can be kept in use. When the fastenings are engaged, the impeller is located within the shredding ring 16. On disengagement the motor circuit is broken by a micro-switch 59 operated by a rod 57, Fig. 2. On reassembly, the motor is reset by a button 60. The motor rotor 36 is suspended in bearings 31, 32.
