Abstract
888,943. Jet propelled vertical lift aircraft. ROLLS-ROYCE Ltd. Aug. 9, 1960 [Aug. 17, 1959], No. 28097/59. Class 4. A fan unit 12, driven by a gas turbine engine 10, comprises a casing 22, through which flows the fan output, and a discharge outlet 24 which is substantially sealed to but movable with respect to casing 22 so that the fan output may be directed at an angle to the longitudinal axis of the fan unit. The discharge outlet 24 is movable about pivots 27, on which it is mounted by operation of rams 31.
