Abstract
672,038. Marking gauges. CORBIDGE, Ltd., F. & V., and CORBIDGE, V. Jan. 23, 1951 [Jan. 24, 1950], No. 1882/50. Class 61 (ii). In a mortice gauge comprising a guide bar 10 carrying an adjustable gauge head 22 and a fixed scribing point 19, the adjustable scribing point 14 is carried by a screw threaded slide 13 accommodated in an undercut groove 12 in one face 11 of the bar. The slide 13, Fig. 3, has a screw threaded flat exposed face 16 and a pair of shoulders 15a adapted to engage with shoulders 14a on the slide. The manipulating nut 21 is housed against axial movement in a transverse slot 20 in the bar. The scribing point 19 is carried by an insert 17 which closes the forward end of the slide. The gauge head 22 is locked in position by a set screw 23, a bearing plate being interposed between the screw and gauge bar. A small recess 26 is provided in the gauge head in which the pin may lie when only one scribing point is required for use.
