A saw setting tool has setting wheels 6 and attached gear wheels 7, the latter enmeshing to couple the two assemblies, the wheels being pivoted for rotation on pivots 14 carried by straight bars 4 pivoted at 5. A wedge shaped member 11 and its adjusting screw 1, provide the setting pressure on the saw which slides in the groove shown with the back edge sliding on the end of an adjustable rod (not shown). The spring 9 opens the setting wheels when the screw 1 is released.
