471,370. Vehicle wheels. SMITH, J. H. March 5, 1936, No. 6698. [Class 144 (ii)] Transverse tread-chains, shown formed of twisted links 7, and consisting of separate gaiters or connected by side-chains 8, are secured to tee-headed lugs 4 fitted in staggered relation to opposite sides of the wheel. In a modification (not shown), the lugs may be fitted to the chains to engage eye-pieces carried by the wheel.
