[Class 144 (ii)] In a tread band comprising cross-chains and side retaining-chains, one of the latter is provided with two separable joints 3-4, 5-6 one or more of the cross-chains being detachably connected to this side-chain adjacent one of the joints. The Figure shows the device partially assembled before the chains 7, 8 are connected to the two-part side-chain.
