Abstract

Two-stroke-cycle engines; cylinders, ports of.-At the end of the power stroke of the piston, air pre-compressed in the crank case enters by the port 7 and assists to drive out the exhaust through the terminal port 8. During the instroke an auxiliary exhaust outlet 15 is opened by the valve 16, its time of opening being adjustable, automatically or otherwise. Mixture which has been compressed in the annular pump space 2 is delivered to the cylinder past the valve 13 after the valve 16 is closed.
