Pistons, cooling.- In a two-stroke internal-combustion engine, combustible mixture compressed in the crank chamber is transferred by a port 15 in the piston and a passage 16 to the working chamber, and air compressed by an annular pump 19 may also be supplied to the working chamber. Instead of supplying additional charge, the annular piston 19 may merely draw in and pump out air through ports 20, 21 for cooling the piston.
