Abstract

252,836. Snow, C. S. H., and Boving, J. O. March 30, 1925. Two-stroke-cycle engines.-In engines having cylinders with a common combustion head the working pistons are connected with the pump pistons by a portion c<1> of reduced diameter into which air or mixture is drawn by way of a valve e on the working stroke and after compression is expelled into the transfer passage h so that it enters the combustion chamber in advance of the mixture that has been compressed in the crank chamber. An opening k connects adjacent pump spaces. The crank chambers axe supplied from a carburettor with mixture which passes into a space o between the chamber, then through openings p<2> in fixed plates p, p<1>, and similar openings in spring-pressed rotary plates q, q<1> when these openings register with each other. Exhaust passes by the passage f to the chamber g surrounding the crank-chamber whereby the mixture is warmed.
