Abstract

279,684. Callender's Cable & Construction Co., Ltd., and Bryce, S. J. Jan. 17, 1927. Armouring cables and conductors.-Armouring wires of an electric cable are covered or coated with rubber before being laid up round the cable which is vulcanized after the armouring has been applied. The Figure shows a four-core cable, each core being covered by an insulating layer B, B<1>, B<2> and the cores being bedded in rubber C. The armouring wires D, covered or coated with rubber D' before being laid on the rubber C, are enclosed in an outer rubber cover E, the whole cable being then vulcanized.
