358,227. Cables. ARUTUNOFF, A., Philtower Building, 5th Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma, U.S.A. Sept. 8, 1930, No. 26808. [Class 36.] Flexible stranded cables, particularly those of the type for use with submergible electric pumps, have the spaces between the strands filled with lacquer or varnish. The stranded conductor is embedded in rubber which is encased in webbing impregnated with varnish. In the embodiment, a cable 17a comprises a stranded conductor 22 embedded in rubber 23 which is covered with impregnated webbing 24. Metal armouring 25 is placed on the webbing 24. In a modified construction for three-phase circuits, the individual cables are embedded in rubber which is enclosed in impregnated webbing. The lacquer or varnish is preferably sprayed between the conductor strands in manufacture.
