Abstract

799,417. Cables. CABLE MAKERS PROPERTIES, Ltd. March 8, 1957 [April 11, 1956], No. 11041/56. Addition to 758,815. Class 36. In a communication, cable comprising at least one pair, each conductor is surrounded by a glass covering and at least one barrier layer of silicone rubber, each covered conductor or each pair or assembly of pairs having a covering of non- halogen containing insulating material. The barrier layer may be applied under and/or over the glass covering, which may be in the form of a braid, roving or wound tape, and the outer covering may comprise a glass tape coated on one or both sides with a silicone rubber and/or a jacket comprising a natural or synthetic non- halogen containing rubber or other hydrocarbon such as polyethylene, which may be coloured or provided with other identification. Further sheathing, comprising a vulcanizable natural or synthetic rubber or polyethylene, and armouring may be provided.
